Lovely pub to bring the dogs. Good selection of beers and real ales, often from local breweries and at reasonable prices. Board games aplenty and a nice relaxed atmosphere, tucked away just off the main high street. Highly recommended.
Great pub that is Dog Friendly and very Dog Welcoming. Nice selection of Tap beers, Ales on hand pump. Great Mild on today and nice lunch. Thanks Team
SImply excellent! The Sunday Lunch was absolutely perfectly cooked and presented. My wife enjoyed the roast chicken, I the roast beef sirloin. Host was delightful as were the two girls serving and bar-tending. Would definitely return if I didn't live so far away; perhaps another time...THANK YOU to all at the Thomas Becket.
Food was OK, not bad but not amazing. Young lady behind the bar was lovely but the older owner gentleman was quite abrupt. Probably would go here again if hungry and everywhere else in town was full, but wouldn't be my first choice. Great that they accept dogs here though.
I have been wanting this place to open for a while now and finally it's happened. I visited today with my partner and we were both left wanting more. Upon entry of this charming rustic and genuinely old but with detailed efforts to rebuild showing the old beams obviously replaced with new but rustic looking beams, we were greeted by a very pleasant chap who was full of information and great advice. The beer was fantastic, clean, fresh and cold, service was impressive with a great atmosphere all round. The food, oh my flipping heck, wow. We had the pulled beef and caramelised red onion croquettes with a mustard mayo sauce, the Scottish smoked salmon with capers and sour dough bread and the sausages sweet chilli and sesame sauce. Everything was done to perfection, the decor was nice and kept to old roots. Honestly I could not find a single fault with this place today so will be definitely going back soon
Very disappointed with my Sunday lunch today. Menu stated roast chicken, bread sauce stuffing potatoes and veg. Firstly when the meal arrived there was no bread sauce or stuffing and the chicken was very dry and tasteless. Vegetables were over cooked. When mentioning the missing items, they refunded drinks biĺl which was around £5.00. Would not recommend
The place is beautiful, the food is amazing, and the staff is absolutely adorable. Loved everything, it was brilliant. Thank you so much!
Becoming our favourite spot to call in with the dogs! They are on their Paws of Fame wall too. Friendly, welcoming and great knowledge from the staff.
Hidden gem The menu here wasn't what I'd expected from outside, purely because it fits in with Canterbury's olde world pub aesthetic. The food is to die for. We shared the truffle and parmesan gnocchi, chorizo, and chicken with garlic mayo from the small plates, which were perfect to graze on over some drinks. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the beer and wine selection too, tried the Argentinian malbec which was divine. Dog friendly with a really cute dog food and treat menu. A nice touch alongside the doggie wall of fame! Staff are lovely, friendly and accomodating.
Fabulous atmosphere! Really enjoyed our couple of times there. Food was nice although smallish portions. Bar games add a bit of fun.
