Oldest pub in town! Loved the atmosphere they maintained. Food is delicious, best pork belly I’ve ever had Selection on menu quite big, with great options of desserts too. Don’t remember the name, but the mustard sauce coming with the pork belly was an absolute gem!
We had a great family time. Loaded chips + crispy calamari+kids menu. Service was good, food cooked quickly and we really liked the portion size. And all tastes delicious Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available 5.95 + ice cream 1.00. kids burger was the better from we tried at 6 other places.
Another meal at this friendly pub! We went for a short break to Canterbury following a recent work trip I'd been on... I wanted to share this fantastic venue with my better half. Liam served the drinks and Taylor took care of the rest, thank you guys and thanks too to back of house. Also, it must be said, the loos were spotless, unlike so many venues these days. Our 3 course Sunday Roast meal was amazing, we left the pub stuffed but very satisfied. I really can't wait to visit Parrot in Canterbury again as soon as possible.
Great pub with traditional food menu, as well as a very good range of draft beers and wines. Food is great and the staff is very friendly. As a bonus, the building is very historical and the setting is very atmospheric.
Geesh est. in 1370, mean that's cool. Even thoughit's been renovated it still has some of the original pieces. You step down into history when walking in. The atmosphere is definitely that of a true traditional pub, with some modern updates. The staff was super friendly going over the beer selection and food choices. One thing did really like was that they had a smaller portion size your could get for thier Fish n' Chips, which was perfect for lunch. It was also one of the best Fish n' Chips I had while visiting the UK, so I would highly recommend it. Super crispy and nice tender flakey Fish inside. Kids got a burger and Mac n' Cheese. Everyone very much enjoyed there food. They have a nice patio area in the back with plenty of seating. The Men's room was pretty cool with a very old door and lock with a sliding peak hole. Just a few steps away is a original Roman Wall, kind of like a little Park. If visiting Canterbury I would highly recommend making this a must stop!
We went to Parrot for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and they also have a very good and quite cheap for the size you get! kid's menu. But one of the most important parts of the great experience is the charming old building and great service. Thanks, Parrot!
Amazing Sunday Roast! The interior is truly spectacular, we dined in the upstairs where they have these beautiful rafters. The roasts were incredible, the gravy was especially good.
I stumbled on this beautiful old pub when I was on a treasure hunt with my niece and nephew. One of the oldest Inns in England, The Parrot is a lovely, cosy place-full of character-there was even a lovely roaring fire. The food was exactly what you expect-pub grub. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Good choice of beers- I was happy they had Whitstable Ale on tap. Friendly staff helped to make us feel relaxed and welcomed.
Oldest pub in Canterbury and possibly the oldest pub I've been to. Very dark and cosy but also a pretty garden outside. Good choice of local beer. We only popped in for a drink so no comment on food. Very busy on a Friday night with lots of reserved tables so I assume it's popular. Definitely worth a visit
Amazing good, great value and the service was impeccable. Beautiful historical building too and pretty garden. A perfect gem .
