The Thomas Tallis Ale House
"We are an Alehouse that that serves a wide range of beers from the cask, keykeg, bottle & can. We offer over 30 at any one time. The selection is forever changing, so don’t go getting too attached to a particular beer.We also have a ever changing range of Ciders and Gins, and some wonderful wines and Prosecco. For food, we have Pork Pies and Scotch Eggs from a local butcher along with local Cheeses, Kent crisps, nuts and in our opinion the best Pork Scratchings around. You will be assured a warm welcome in The Thomas Tallis, but we ask that you do not use your phone to make or receive calls. We have no objection to texting, searching the internet etc, but a noisy phone will cost you £1 which will go to the Pilgrims Hospice."

Really enjoyable experience. The staff member was friendly and attentive. The cider was great! I recommend the apple pie cider if it's available. They served drinks in 1/3, half pint, full pint. Loved the comfy seats at the back. There were bar snacks scotch eggs, pork scratchings, crisps. We didn't play them but there were also some games available. If I were visiting Canterbury again then I'd definitely make a pilgrimage here.
I'd normally review the location first but I'll start with the owner, they are a Scrabble Meister. Great ideas and well presented. In terms of the alehouse, superb selection of beers, much knowledge, cosy fire to warm oneself. Shame that they had run out of food, left munching crisps and nuts. Will frequent.
Very abusive owner. Regularly hits out at his customers and asks them to leave if he doesn't like the way they look / chew too loudly / talk about a subject that he disagrees with Can't speak much about the ales because I'm not a big fan, but I'm sure there are some decent ones....
Amazing pub with a large selection of special beers and some nice local cheeses to go with. Cozy place and very good service. Loved it!
Such a great find. Good choice of beer and great service in a fantastic setting. We'll definitely be back again soon.
Wow I tried "Black bird" and it was perfect. Warm and cozy place. The owner advised to try 2 another types of beer - one with caramel and chocolate taste . Yum will try it next time .
Best pub I have been in without a bar. People are very friendly and helpful. They selection of beers, ales and ciders. The place is quite small and might struggle to get a seat at busy times but once your there definitely order the flight of 3 beers.
Best variety of beers in Canterbury, nice cosy atmosphere. Ignore the moaning wazzocks giving bad reviews, the staff are great.
Quirky interior, friendly staff and a great selection of beer. The focus is more on keg than cask, also a decent selection of ciders. There's no bar, let the staff know what you want and they'll bring the drinks to you. Well worth popping in for a pint or two or more!
Incredibly friendly and charming old pub with a great selection of beers and ciders. Perfect for taking some time to taste the options on tap and find a new favourite.
