My hubby and I attended the gin tasting evening. The food was lovely and the gins they used were delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the guy who hosted the evening was charming. We had a lovely evening.
The room on the other hand is dated. The wall paper in places had been patched up and the mattresses are not very comfy. Although it was clean we were expecting something a little more luxurious. We were told that when it was booked this was the last room, the family room, so on arrival we didn’t ask to switch rooms. 
We had a great time though it just wasn’t wow!

Fourth stay here, come every year on a yoga group holiday. Every year we find the staff to be charming, polite and incredibly helpful without exception. The food is excellent, hot, healthy and wholesome they even cater for veggie and vegan diets. Tonight I arrived late to the group booking but still received an excellent hot meal without any bother at all. The hotel is always very clean even though it must be hard to upkeep such a historic building. I got an updated room and the decor was lovely and again room very clean. A member of staff even offered to carry my bags all the way to my room when I landed in reception looking a bit windswept!!

Fantastic venue for a Wedding 💒 Not badly priced and great banquet Hall. Beautiful, and with a stained glass ceiling.
  Good agents Summer fairs, Vintage car rally, Halloween 🎃 celebration 🎉 Gin tasting evenings,,  Sunday Dinners, Afternoon teas, Walk around Wortley and finish off with a walk in the grounds by the duck pond and back to the fireman's lounge for a nice Pollarfs coffee ☕ / or tea with Grannie Wilds biscuits.
.  Burns Night, Valentine's day and Mothers day are celebrated and Christmas too. 
The Gardens have Organic gardening lessons which whilst are not free are definitely worth it. 
Caravan site as well.

This week myself and 10 friends had afternoon tea at Wortley Hall. We were served by friendly staff in the very impressive oak panelled board room overlooking the beautiful grounds. The tea itself was perfect, an assortment of delicious sandwiches, freshly made sausage rolls, scones with jam and cream, an array of desserts and a continuous supply of tea and coffee, we couldn't fault it. Thank you to Head Chef Matthew and his team for making my birthday treat so special.

Staff and were lovely,friendly and helpful.  House and gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Easy to find from road,postcode takes you to the front door. Village with pub and shop only a few minutes walk away. Great place for a stay.
