The hotel has a lot of character being originally a 16th century manor house. Beautiful grounds which are better appreciated in the summer months. The rooms are a good size with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Our room had a double bed, small dressing table, three chairs and small round coffee table and good size wardrobe. The TV is small but comes with Sky TV. The bathroom came with a bath, handbasin, shower cubicle and toilet. There is a comfortable bar area with comfortable chairs and log fire. Another room close to the restaurant with comfortable chairs and another log fire. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with well placed table and chairs for two. The food is of a good standard but lacks more choice, for example; just three starters four mains which included one vegetarian and two desserts or cheese and biscuits. We chose cheese and biscuits. Breakfast the following morning was excellent. I only gave the hotel four stars because of the poor choice on the dinner menu but I would go back again.

Me and my family met here for an intimate  celebration and chose to dine from the "let's do lunch" menu. As this is very good value we were surprised to find that the choice, quality and flavours were outstanding. The hall is very beautiful in the snow, and I'm sure is lovely in other seasons. I really recommend this venue for special occasions.

We went for an evening meal in the restaurant, set price at £25 for two courses or £30 for three. The hotel is lovely, not new and shiny but full of old world charm and history. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, and the food was lovely. Standard of service was very good. Really enjoyed the meal and we will go back!

I went for a wedding fair. It is a beautiful place and grounds. The stands for the fair we mostly independent people but the staff at the hotel were lovely

Very good value hotel with excellent food and wine. Really enjoyed my sgort stay. Will use again.
