"The Wheatsheaf Farm is located in Woolsington We’ve got something for absolutely everyone at Farmhouse Inns, whether that’s our freshly prepared carvery, comforting, much-loved classics, great-value breakfasts or dedicated menu for kids – it’s all guaranteed to please. Not to mention our huge, hand-decorated cakes and unrivalled baked puddings. We’re as big on quality as we are with our portions, which is why we slow-roast our meats for 14-hours, freshly prepare our veg, create fluffy, handmade Yorkies, ruffle-up our perfectly crispy roast potatoes, and bake and hand-decorate our giant cakes in our kitchen every day. So, you know you’re always getting a generous plate of proper food when you visit us at Wheatsheaf Farm"

Absolutely love this place... Quite regularly go for the Sunday carvery, and as we enjoy it so much, we booked in for Christmas dinnermy first ever time eating out for Xmas Dinner. Our first booking was sadly cancelled due to covid, but alas we made it for 2021... Stilton and mushroom on top of brochetta, then off to the food bar to fill up our plates with ham, turkey, and beef with a selection of delicious roasted vegetablesand I mean delicious mmm.. A choice of 2 gravies, one with onion, and one without... a selection of sauces too... Too full to eat pudding so the staff happily boxed ours up to take out. Staff are very accommodating and are eager to make your stay welcoming and comfortable. There is ample sitting positions in a very spacious room... I recommend this place to everyone... See you soon I'm sure
Staff were absolutely lovely! Very friendly and welcoming I was a bag of nerves coming here due to extreme anxiety! But felt like I was at home. Loved my experience and can't wait to come back. We got the carvery and was outstanding along with deserts! Weldone keep up the good work!
Enjoyed Christmas meal last year Nice atmosphere friendly staff but unfortunately this year food as not as good Yorkshire puddings cold and limp. I told server and was told they were all like that but he did offer to warm them Roast potatoes pale and soft and and sprouts over cooked and mushy Cake to take home lovely
Usually enjoy the meals at this chain but this branch disappointed. The table had the old pub look, been wiped but could do with a clean. The menus had samples of various meals options stuck to them, again in need of a clean. Nothing like a nice coffee to end a meal and this was nothing like a nice coffee. More a cup of brown water with a slight coffee taste.
Great food and lovely staff. Been a few times, will be back soon. Only 1 minus: older kids in the play area, there's a clear sign saying "under 5s only" but lots of older kids being disruptive around younger children.
Visited on a bank holiday around 11am I don't believe it had been open long as there was only 1 table occupied and was disappointed that the table and kids playing area was unclean, had to wipe away food and spit from toys and the carpet so that my 11 month old could play. My partner enjoyed his meal of macaroni cheese with chicken peri peri, however I got the carvery and was thoroughly disappointed. Veg was watery and tasteless, the meat was dry and I'm not sure if the mashed potato even contained real potatoes. The staff were friendly enough and I did try to speak my concerns over my dish to one of them but she was distracted by a large table of guests - by the time she circled back we needed to get going for the little one to have a sleep. Wouldn't be rushing back.
I have always loved the wheatsheafs carvery, but the one I had today was truely awful, the pork tasted greasy, the mash had a skin on it, the swede was watery, and the gravy was absolutely vile. There were other things wrong but I don’t want to waffle on for hours. I’m not too sure I’ll go back The staff are very pleasant though.
Ran out of the food we wanted. Staff ignoring telephone calls coming in. I ordered fish and chips. The batter was rock hard and contained very little fish. We wanted to order dessert but told the kitchen had closed so only cake available. Why weren't we warned it would be closing? We could have ordered before it closed. The staff were very unhelpful. On leaving we found the steps and paths were very icy. One of our group is a wheelchair user and it was too risky to get her to our car. To solve this we took her to the adjacent hotel car park. I drove the car to this car park then found I had to go to the hotel reception to get a code to get out of the car park. We will not be returning..
I really only went for the Marz attack cakeaway but would have a main which most are nothing exciting last visit no fish on the menu. The worst thing Marz attack is now just chocolate cake as the piece of mars bar has been removed and replaced with a twirl of chocolate icing.
Had a 30th birthday family lunch today for my son food was amazing and staff were fantastic especially Rob on the carvery and Paige they went above and beyond for us lovely place with great atmosphere and amazing food highly recommend
