First trip away from home with my 6 month old baby. There is no lift in the hotel, but I can't thank the staff enough for providing assistance with getting all the babies stuff to the room. Spacious twin room and travel cot set up with bedding provided. Have to say though the best part of the deal was the FANTASTIC food on offer for breakfast and the evening meal. I will be taking a trip back to this hotel! The hotel seems to attract group tours and those of the older generation, which for my little boy was fantastic because at meal time he had an audience of people giving him attention. Quiet location just off the main road and within walking distance of the town centre.

A decent quality 2 star hotel. A decent breakfast menu and the evening meals are more than acceptable. On the downside it caters for quite a few schools visiting York and can be noisy. Overall good value for money and very convenient for the city centre and other places of interest.

We spent a lovely weekend here. Very warm and welcoming. Staff were very helpful and polite,nothing was too much trouble. The food was Excellent. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Would recommend to anyone to spend a visit when in York 😊

My daughter and myself spent four lovely days at one of the best hotels we have been to. Lovely clean rooms warm and comfortable, and as for the staff you could not find better anywhere. This is a lovely family run hotel and they could not do enough for us,and as for the home cooking well it was beautiful, with a choice of meals,I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Once again a big thank you to Tim and Fiona and staff ,we will definitely be back X.

I have gone to the Wheatlands Lodge for a long weekend every October for the last 20 years or so and it has been owned by the same family. The Wheatlands has a small and comfortable licensed bar with separate lounge and dining rooms. Spread over 3 floors with single double and twin and a few ground floor tastefully decorated bedrooms. Tea coffee and sandwiches are available on request in the lounge. The only downside to the Wheatlands there's no lift and so not very accessible for the disabled
