We had our wedding reception here on the Good Friday, we had an amazing time, the food was delicious and service was extremely good. Ample servings, could not Fault. We stayed here at the B&B on our wedding night, amenities were brilliant, the room was lovely and the shower was amazing, the breakfast was plentiful and fry up was very tasty.Thank you Linda for a wonderful day. Can’t wait to come back soon.
Stopped here for lunch with my wife. Sat at table quickly and ordered drinks. Was advised there may be a delay on food as there was a fairly large party already seated. Drinks arrived and food ordered. As advised there was a bit of a delay to bring the food out. Food was very nice, decent sized portions and well worth the money. The large party had now left and we thought this may improve the speed of food coming out. However, after ordering deserts there was quite a long delay, which did detract from the overall experience. The staff were fantastic and apologised and the rhubarb crumble was very very nice. Overall, we liked it. We would recommend it, but it could potentially be helped by another member of staff to serve.
Waiters could've been more friendly and well spoken. They only had the Sunday dinner in the menu for today, so You would expect a specialist flavour and make, it wasn't, the lamb was hard and it was just your typical Sunday Roast. £35 each for a shared Camembert, a meh roast and a cheesecake with a couple of drinks in what it looked like a Home garden is nothing to write Home about. I wouldn't comeback, this is the first time a 4.6 rating disappoints me.
After stopping for a drink when visiting Upnor Castle last year we decided to head here for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. All we can say is that the food and service was exactly as the other reviews suggested, excellent. We'll certainly be returning.Food: 5/5
Tucked away down the lovely cobbled street leading down to the waterfront and Castle this quaint little pub is like a tardis. Goes back a fair way and is quite deceptive in how big it is inside. Lovely atmosphere and the food was lovey
My first time in the place and for me as being old school it was a blast from the past..... what pubs should be It was an office Christmas lunch and there was 3 largish parties there 2 young ladies behind the bar and serving as well. They were fantastic and made sure we were well served with drinks and the food was delicious Highly recommended
I love this amazing little pub/restaurant. I’d heard so many good reviews and I’ve been a few times now and haven’t been disappointed. The food is always of the best quality the chips are amazing!! and the waiting and bar staff are so friendly and welcoming. Absolute gem!!
Not the best Sunday roast I've had there, had better, the beef was very bloody and needed a steak knife to cut it, and the portions that go with it, very small. Ie, potatoes, gravy.
Went here for Sunday lunch, which didn't disappoint good portion size and extra portion of cauliflower cheese was delicious. Would of given 5 stars if slightly cheaper
We had dinner at the pub, and we really enjoyed the food. Good quality food in a famoly-friendly environment Food & drinks: Tasty food in a very family-friendly environment.
