Friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms, wonderful freshly cooked breakfast with good selection. Beautiful views from the room too. Rated 4 star because the decors including carpet need updating. It's clean and tidy nonetheless. There's no smell of mould or damp, which is paramount for my stay. Attach is the view from the room. The hotel gardens are relaxing to be in too.
beautiful hotel with lots of character! The room was clean and tidy. The staff was very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was lovely! Full Cornish breakfast. There was plenty of parking. Just a 15 minute costal walk to the centre of st Ives. Honestly couldn’t fault this hotel. Was a lovely breakRooms: 4/5
DO NOT COME HERE! - A 3 night stay! Beautiful on the outside but dire on the inside! Restaurant not open in the evening so this is basically a b& b charging 4* prices! The hotel is in receivership & will be converted to flats or a spa by the end of the year, depending on which staff member you talk to! The staff are friendly enough and tried their best but are supplied by the receiver so were unable to deal with ours & the complaints of our fellow guests! The breakfast was basic, the rooms tired & the bar was a cupboard under the stairs with a hatch! Definitely not worth the £200+ per night we paid so shame on you expedia for deceiving your customers & the being impossible to contact to deal with our complaints! On the plus side, the gardens are very pretty & St Ives is beautiful. We will definitely visit the town again but will make sure we are staying in a proper hotel!
Hotel is lovely on the outside. We had a pretty tough experience due to a hiccup with the online booking, leaving 4 of us in a small economy room rather than a large family room as booked and paid for online. However, the staff could not have been nicer about the situation and we came to an arrangement that we were happy with. We left early in the morning so didn’t get a chance to thank the staff correctly but they really were so lovely. Wouldn’t recommend the eggs but the rest of the breakfast was great! It really does seem as though the new owners are trying to make improvements. Rooms do need a slight update, I’m exited to return one day and see how it turns out. Best of luck to the staff and owners.
This place is absolutely stunning from the outside ! Then you get inside and the reception area is still really nice. Then once you start ascending the stairs you can see there is desperate room for improvement !! The hotel is in need of an overhaul ! We stayed in a very cheap £99 room, and the room itself was quite sweet, but most of the decor was dated and out of place, the mattress felt like I was sleeping in a cutlery draw the shared bathroom light didn't work and there was a pube in the bath. There was no cleaning sheet to let customers know the last time it was cleaned, nor were there any cleaning products so I could give it a quick spray before I used it. It made me feel uncomfortable.
The staff are so nice. Without exception, each member was exceedingly friendly and kind to us. At the risk of missing someone out, I should like to thank Ken for rescuing us in the dark on our first night, Kelly for recommending lots of restaurants for us to eat, Ian for upgrading us and our great chats with both of them, Peter for also recommending places and always interested in what we had done each day and June, Pam and Jasmine for their sweet care towards us as well as the two delightful girls who cleaned our rooms and told me what time to see the glorious sunrise over the sea from my bedroom window. We absolutely loved our nine days at Treloyhan Manor. It’s a beautiful property in a stunning location where we were made to feel so welcome by all the lovely staff.
I was really looking forward to my stay at this property based on the pictures and it is true that the exterior of the building is lovely and the communal spaces are nice as well. Additionally the location is great with St Ives about a 15-20 minute walk and Carbis Bay similar too. However I was let down on several aspects. First of all the rooms are very dated. They are clean but they certainly are not worth the price and is poor value for money. The carpets are clearly worn and have seen better days and generally not what you expect of a high standard hotel. Although my room was fully ensuite, a couple of the rooms had a private bathroom where you would need to step out your room to access. The food was also disappointing. Although I cannot be 100% sure it was the hotel food, I did suffer food poisoning soon after the hotel breakfast and I am not sure if it is that but it wasn't particularly appetising. COVID-19 measures are also poorly enforced around the buffet. However the most shocking part of this trip was that one of the hotel staff entered my room during the middle of the day whilst I was in my room without knocking or anything! That is completely unprofessional in any hotel and privacy is the most basic expectation. If this was a budget hotel I would consider it good value but due to the price I paid for 2 nights around £500 it is simply not worth it and I would not recommend. Apologies for the lack of pictures in this review but often I only like to take nice photos thus I forgot!
Very run down , basic property overcharging visitors just cs people are not able to travel out of the country. Stained carpets, really small beds in rooms. Breakfast - was tasteless. The staff - met such lovely people who tried their best to help and make do with what little they had to offer.. The house reeks of by gone splendour - the owners need to put in money to properly renovate this place and preserve it as a lovely guest house. Its in one of the most prime locations in St Ives.
Old stately house, strongly reminding me of college accommodation in Cambridge where it is very pretty but the heating and insulation is rather unreliable! Our room heater was noisy but nonfunctional. Fortunately we were warm enough on a 15deg windy and rainy day in September with the provided duvets. Shower was great, very hot and good water pressure. Grounds nice to explore when the sun came out, appears to have a path that might lead all the way to the sea although we did not go very far as we had to leave early. Full cooked english/cornish breakfast, we changed some items and they got the order wrong eggs fried instead of poached, what did get delivered was not particularly great especially the sausages being very dry. Toast, jams and cornflakes were available for self service.
Cheap, cheerful very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help. Fabulous location, perched overlooking the beach and.beach bars on the outskirts of st. Ives. The room I chose had a shared bathroom which was no discomfort for me. The bed was very comfortable and a full buffet style breakfast with tea and coffee included was first rate. A lovely place..
