A truly warm and homely little humble abode! They really could not have been more accommodating! Regrettably we didn't get the chance to see them after checking in due to our travelling requiring early starts easy travel is definitely an advantageous point I'll talk about in a sec but they allowed us in a tad earlier than the official check in time due to us getting there early because of the nature of public transport. The woman was absolutely lovely! Recommend some places to go while we stayed :D The room was gorgeous! And had everything we needed plus a mini fridge and an egg cooker! In the fridge was daily replenished small complimentary orange juice, water, yoghurt and fruit pots and a couple of brunch bars which went down extremely well on our early mornings! Plus fresh milk for cereal which was placed on the tables for us. A good sized mirror, tv and a hairdryer. The only VERY MINOR hiccups were a loudly squeaky door which I worried might wake other rooms if we were to use the toilet during the night which turned out not to be an issue anyway so didn't matter and I struggled to regulate the heat of the shower, almost like there was no middle ground between hot and cold. This wasn't a big problem though because it just took a little getting used to and you could relax. We never raised it with beechwood because it wasn't too big a problem however I have full confidence that if we had we would have been accommodated to the best of their ability! It was fantastic, really can't complain and these two things really were nothing more than minor hiccups. The bed however... oh my dear lord that bed! I can't even describe how luxurious that bed was. Easily the most comfortable and cosy bed I have ever slept on. It's like falling asleep in the arms of a Greek goddess. I'd have taken that bed back home if I could! Annnd the travelling... its a 15 minute walk to carbis bay train station which makes it criminally easy to get anywhere in Cornwall! We went to st ives, Truro, Charlestown, Redruth, the lizard and kynance, holywell and botallack mine with absolute ease making beechwood a perfect option for those trying to get around Cornwall without a car! Theres a costcutter open till 11pm as of typing this review literally right next door. An amazing vegan restaurant and a chippy within a 10 minute walk and a Tesco superstore 15 minutes away! The best thing is the beautiful carbis bay beach is just a minute further from the train station making evening walks that much more convenient and beautiful! What a goldmine beechwood house proved to be! I fully recommend it to everyone but especially to those who rely on public transport! Thankyou beechwood for allowing us comfort and care while we trekked your beautiful county!
Fantastic place. A short walk to the best beach in St Ives Carbis Bay and the train station that offers a 3 minute ride into St Ives centre. As St Ives centre is so busy, it’s great to get away from the noise and crowds and retreat to this B&B on an evening. My room had a great sea view. A fridge in the bedroom was restocked for free daily with breakfast items.
A couple of nights stop over. Although the room was compact, we had everything we needed. Comfy bed, shower, breakfast supplied in the room, tea/coffee etc. Parking on site. Nice walk to Carbis Bay and St Ives.
Really friendly hotel owners. Great room and well stocked fridge and facilities for making breakfast including eggs. Stones throw from Carbis Bay beach which is an untouched gem and much nicer than the busier beaches further along
Fantastic place to stay. Welcoming, friendly. Very comfortable, clean rooms. Nice choice of breakfast, the fan that was provided in the room was a godsend in this heat. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!Rooms: 5/5
Perfect. The hosts Jan&pete were lovely. The room was great, with everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was delicious, with different opinions, plently of tea and coffee. Everything within a small walking distance of the hotel.
I love the wonderful owners who had lovely chat with me and my girlfriend of 2 years. As we went to celebrate our anniversary, lovely hosts welcomed us with open heart, fed us warm and clean delicious breakfasts like we never had the best British Breakfast before. I never expected a hotel to be such clean and fantastically presented. Honestly, the couple were the most hard working and professional couple. They're doing this from their heart and we were more than over the moon to have met such a lovely couple. We are back every year from now on! Lots of love from Vee & Suzi! X
Pete and Jan's place is prime position in Carbis Bay. Ideal base for travelling the area, they are also fantastic hosts providing all amenities and information needed for a perfect stay. We will definatley be back. Noteworthy details: Great rooms, great hosts, perfect position.
I would have liked a lounge or public area in the place to hang out with people. The table and chairs outside were nice but dusty and not clean enough to be inviting. All the rest was fine.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed here last year and now staying here again now. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Right next to the beach , train station, shops ,town etc. Basically a very friendly and homey place to stay in a convenient location. Plan to stay here every summer for my short getaways
