For an outside view this good, I think the station itself needs to be a bit better. At platform level, the station isn’t so bad with your standard sub-surface station look. Three platforms are here though for the occasional terminating train. Can get crowded with all the tourists. The exterior is minimal and not that great to look at, but you are at the platforms super fast. Tower Hill could have been much better.
We planned on seeing the Tower of London first thing Sunday morning, and wanted to arrive before it opened due to the expected crowds. So we took the tube from Paddington Station to Tower Hill station and found it an exhilarating ride, being our first time on any underground. The process was simple, just tap your credit card on the gate and join the queue to board the next train. We watched the stops go by as we zoomed towards the Tower Hill station. After 20 minutes of anticipation, we exited the tube and glanced around at the amazing view of the Tower of London from Tower Hill. Looking towards the River Thames, we saw Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast, and to our left, a section of the Old Roman Wall remains. The rain didn't dampen our excitement as we descended Tower Hill on foot and jostled our umbrellas with other tourists and locals awaiting entry into The Tower of London.nAll in all, the London Underground served us very well and was the quickest and least expensive way to begin our London Adventure.
Practical station to use especially with the step free access from platform to street. A couple of issues includes the station having more entrances than exits, and the outside of the station having too many homeless people camping about. Thank goodness they're not in the station unlike what's happening in Paris.
A conveniently located tube station near Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and numerous local hotels and restaurants. While there are some homeless individuals around the station, they are not aggressive, and the area does not resemble the tent cities often seen in Canadian or American cities. The station is wheelchair accessible and suitable for those with mobility issues, as well as for tourists with luggage.
Tower Hill Station is served by the Circle & District lines this is a very busy underground station with lots of passengers/ tourists. There is no disabled access only stairs across the road is the Tower of London & Tower Gateway DLR Station.
