Below ground this is a very open and airy station, being a separation point for the Circle and District lines. Also serves as a terminal for the two and therefore has some trains at a stand still.
We planned on seeing the Tower of London first thing Sunday morning, and wanted to arrive before it opened due to the expected crowds. So we took the tube from Paddington Station to Tower Hill station and found it an exhilarating ride, being our first time on any underground. The process was simple, just tap your credit card on the gate and join the queue to board the next train. We watched the stops go by as we zoomed towards the Tower Hill station. After 20 minutes of anticipation, we exited the tube and glanced around at the amazing view of the Tower of London from Tower Hill. Looking towards the River Thames, we saw Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast, and to our left, a section of the Old Roman Wall remains. The rain didn't dampen our excitement as we descended Tower Hill on foot and jostled our umbrellas with other tourists and locals awaiting entry into The Tower of London.nAll in all, the London Underground served us very well and was the quickest and least expensive way to begin our London Adventure.
Practical station to use especially with the step free access from platform to street. A couple of issues includes the station having more entrances than exits, and the outside of the station having too many homeless people camping about. Thank goodness they're not in the station unlike what's happening in Paris.
Tower Hill Station is served by the Circle & District lines this is a very busy underground station with lots of passengers/ tourists. There is no disabled access only stairs across the road is the Tower of London & Tower Gateway DLR Station.
The best station to travel to if your visiting the tower of London which the entrance to the tower of London is on the far side next to the river but is only a short walk or tower bridge wich is the same way and also only a short walk this station only has 2 lines the circle and the district lines.
