I've been coming here for 2 years, this is the best gym around. Everyone is really friendly and helpful and the staff are great. The machines are always working and the weights area is excellent. The classes are excellent especially the spin classes. Everyone is always on hand to help and everyone is made to feel welcome and it's like being part of a large family unlike commercial gyms. Ryan and Tracy are great managers and PTs
Superb gym, friendly staff and members and the only gym I've been in 35 plus years where 99% of people put their weights away. It seems to be an unwritten rule at Thrive Bolton and it makes a massive difference. Members seem to have a lot of respect for the place. Great selection of weights and off peak times are very quiet. If I'm being picky some of the cable machines near the windows are a bit sticky and not very smooth. And the showers are of the open plan type if you like your privacy. Music could do with a bit of variety..However it still gets 5 stars from me and it's a pleasure to train there. Best gym in Bolton.
Absolutely fantastic gym great friendly staff very well trained PT to help you achieve the best you can be. This is the best gym in Bolton .
It's a good gym, doesn't get too busy, equipment is ok, machines bit cramped in.Never been to an unfriendly gym,so it's ok.The music level however is now oppressive, especially in the small area where the punch bags are,and abs area.If doing core/stretch/yoga day,or bag work it's difficult to concentrate as the bass of the music takes over,even with earbuds in.

If I could give the gym no stars I would. The gym itself equipment wise is spot on but the staffs customer service needs work ASAP. I called up to ask whether the gym was open as I had previously spoke about memberships and was told on a Tuesday to "come down anytime this week". I chose to go down on Friday afternoon for the gym to be closed for renovation which extremely disappointed me as I had a 50minute journey to get there. I then decided to give the gym another go, so again, called on the day to make sure it was open and times if so, to be "greeted" rather begrudgingly by a staff member Morgan, who said yes and gave me opening times, in an aggressive tone, before putting the phone down abruptly, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. I was in the area and short of time so purchased a day pass via Hussle and went down. From arrival, I was made to feel like an inconvenience as I arrived at 9PM, but I knew I could get my full session in, in the hour it was specified to be open, which was also confirmed by Morgan. At quarter to 10 she started turning the lights off, AGAIN, making me and my partner feel uncomfortable in the environment. Then at ten minutes to closing I was told, mid set, that I had to leave immediately as "the gym is closed", meanwhile she was joking with another member who she allowed to stay. I have trained across the UK, in hundreds of different gyms, my partner and I have and do work at premier gyms personally David Lloyd & more and have NEVER been spoken or treated like that. Inappropriate and unprofessional to say the least. There are many gyms in the surrounding areas and I would highly recommend checking one of those before spending your hard earned money in here.
Used to be great gym, new staff members with management have turned it from a personal experience to a frustrating one, cannot tell you how many times my membership and details have been deleted. I feel discouraged when new staff are more interested in talking to friends than serving custom. Talk about service with a smile. Floor upstairs has also begun to rise due to constant damp?
Excellent gym, nice surroundings and team are really nice and friendly. PT sessions are available if you wish 1 to 1 input. I work with Tracy as I prefer a woman but Danny and Baz are really good as well ‍
Great gym with fantastic equipment, very clean. Lovely team of staff and PTs always happy to help
