Been using the gym for 2/3 years regularly. Staff are generally pleasant and helpful. Did have issues with a PT staff that didn't like me from day one even though I had never spoken to her. Plenty of cardio equipment..recently spruced up functional workout area. It would be nice if the workout area was kept clean occasionally plastic waste can still be there the next day and tops of some machines and underneath some equipment can be dirty. I wish they'd purchase new weights. Also I wish they would taylor pricing to reflect usage. I don't use half of the facilities yet I pay for all of them. Also a major major gripe is health and safety : users leave weights and equipment lying around all over the weights section. Occasionally staff will attempt to clear the area but why are users allowed to just leave equipment lying around waiting for me to trip over!! It can be a minefield sometimes!
Great weights but, the steam room and jacuzzi and sauna are always breaking down. No one seems to know when they are going to be fixed. They'll keep putting your membership up though and keep taking your money. Loads of people leaving every week.
Hi DW BOLTON, gym itself is great, members of staff are great, but when it comes to the swimming pool area, it is awful as f.... 1. floors are dirty unbelievably 2. From 4 Services sauna , bath, steam room, swimming pool more likely will be working only one sauna, where people will be packed as fish in a can. its even became a joke for two weeks, we as members are coming and being told in bath filter not working , why swimming pool is closed no explanation, Steam room doorwhich is brokencannot be changed already for a month, and there is always an excuse. Staff is always telling us we need to speak with head office, but as a director of the company myself, I can say without no doubt problems of the business not problems of customers. We paying money for service , not for making calls !!Please sort that asap!!!! Or we will start just declining our memberships around 40-50 poeple and will move on to TOTAL Fitness or any other gym, where staff will be looking after their customers. Staff are friendly, equipment is worn out, the lighter bumper plates are buckled and the bars are terrible. Plenty of cardio equipment if that's your thing if you just want to lift, especially if you want to train for Olympic weightlifting then it's not a 3 star gym, 2 stars would perhaps be more appropriate.... Sauna is ok, steam room I didn't rate, it wasn't dirty but it didn't feel healthy in there, I can't quite put my finger on the problem. Pool is available although it's a small one. Changing rooms are ok, not great. No machine to dry your trunks, which is standard in all non-DW gyms with a pool...music in the gym varies wildly, expect to enjoy one in five songs and to hate three in five.
Decent quality gym to be a part of. Good facilities at multiple locations. Bolton specifically is one of the better ones in my opinion with more or less most of the equipment you want including heavy bag, pool , kitchen and steam room, all kept in good condition and clean, good parking, free lockers, classes and PTs.
Excellent gym! great staff, amazing functional area! Got all the facilities you need and for a great price! Pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room Large freeweight area Large functional area WITH SLED! New resistance kit also!!
Probably the worst gym experience I've ever had. Persuaded someone else to join and I don't think they will be going back. Rude staff Not all mind you. If you want to swim on a Sunday and 'get fit' , forget it. If you want a relaxing steam , forget it. The swimming pool is full of screaming children like a public baths in summer. The pool area has parents fully clothed watching their children swim makes you feel real uncomfortable, when your half naked!. I originally joined to swim in peace. Now that's not possible, I may as well go elswhere. Sadly I was warned about this and didn't listen.
Over all i dont have much to complain about. The staff are friendly and helpful fairly standard changing rooms ect but only one disabled changing for both male and female so often cant acsses disabled changing rooms which does make things more difficult but other than that its on par with other gyms iv been in the past.
Pool is disgustingly dirty. Staff are polite enough but always seem they'd rather be somewhere else. The Bolton gym is a significant downgrade from my home gym in MK. The disparity in quality of service and facility is glaring.
Great gym, whilst smaller than some of the other DWs, it's well laid out with plenty of room. Rarely have I seen a piece of equipment out of order. Place is clean and tidy and staff are friendly.
