Arrived here on Saturday afternoon without a table reservation and the car park was fairly busy. Needn't have worried! We were greeted by the very friendly and attentive staff who very quickly found us a table and set us up with drinks whilst we chose our food. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. I am a lover of bread and butter pudding, preferably a traditional one with no extras. But I ordered the house special which had coffee and chocolate added. I was so pleased that I did, probably the best bread and pudding I have eaten. I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit, but do book as the restaurant was busy, and the chocolate and coffee bread and butter pudding.
First visit tonight and food was amazing. The service could have been better though - starter missing from our group, one of the mains was delayed and part of it was missing and had to be asked for, I asked for mustard, chose English and was given French... small details but could easily be improved. Didn't appear that anyone was in charge? The staff seemed a bit flustered and directionless. Having said that, in the main they were all lovely and very friendly. It won't stop me from returning though. Great menu with some lovely looking dishes that I'd look forward to trying. And it was pretty good value too considering the food quality and presentation.
An amazing gem of a property. The rooms are cozy, the food is great, and the staff are amazing. Maurice is an exemplary publican and his knowledge of whisky helped us through choosing which of the many on offer to try next. I would stay here again without hesitation.
Went for lunch with 4 friends. Excellent service and delicious food. Lovely environment and good atmosphere. Only small issue was the leek and potato soup that was rather bland and required a lot of seasoning. Nevertheless I would highly recommended it
Our first visit here as we were in the area. I contacted them first to reserve a table as we were a family including our dog. Spoke to a lovely lady who reserved our table. We were greeted at our table with menus we couldn't have asked for more friendly and attentive staff. We all enjoyed our meals the sunday lunches were amazing. We will definitely be returning thank you for being so welcomibg
We’ve had breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday roasts here. The food is consistently excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and very efficient. I’d highly recommend
Had a table of 11 booked today for afternoon tea. We had ordered a mix of traditional and hot. Cannot fault it. Great service, food was amazing. Highly recommend this menu
First visit today and I was very impressed. Great choice on the menu and the food was delicious. Staff were really friendly and I will definitely return.
Lovely food and a very nice place to be . Nice atmosphere .staff seemed like they didn't want to be there , but enjoyed my my meal.
The rooms were SO lovely! So happy that we came upon this Pub. Lovely Pub too! The restaurant was lovely too! When i'm back in the area i would definitely stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
