Monday night is Chip Van night - The Pilgrim Fryer whose F&C are of legendary world class quality. Plus the pub was cosy, friendly, and made us very welcome to eat inside while we sampled 4 excellent real Ales.
Excellently cooked Sunday lunch. Everything cooked to perfection. Wonderful staff. Desserts are amazing. We like it here and keep returning. Definitely recommend. Sunday lunch is £13.95 - this is too cheap. Most places these days are £15.95-£18.95. They could do with putting their prices up to survive the ever increasing costs.
7 of us for Sunday lunch including 3 children and a dog. Made to feel very welcome with water and biscuits offered for the dog as soon as we sat down. The whole team were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious and very reasonable. Good vegetarian options available. Would definitely go back again.
Dropped in after a walk and were greeted with a super welcome by staff and locals alike. Ended up staying for delicious food and a couple of drinks. Our dogs were welcome and had their own biscuit-welcome! Perfect pub.
We have never been here before, but will definitely return. The menu is fantastic and the specials board was tempting too. The atmosphere and staff is so welcoming. Warm log fires burning in the grates. Lunchtime specials for the over 60s. A point of interest in one of the rooms is that there are lots of military memorabilia from many head -dresses to helmets and body armour. All really interesting. I would definitely recommend the white horse Inn at Stourpaine.
Lovely pub, friendly staff and amazing food. Emma was our waitress and nothing was a problem, she was excellent and did an amazing job.
Fantastic little pub, so glad we found it. The food was delicious, even two very fussy children had clean plates! We were served by a lady called Emma who was just so lovely and patient, she's a credit to the pub. Best place that we have eaten at in a long time. If you love lasagne than you definitely need to order that! And the puddings are also extremely delicious too. Oh and not to mention the baby changing room! Very clean, smells lovely and even has spare nappies and wipes incase you have either run out or just forgot to restock the changing bag! You just need to get the key from a member if staff. We will 100% be returning.
What a wonderful pub, lovely welcome on a cold December evening. Mulled wine and a log fire very cosy ! The staff are friendly and helpful. Fantastic meal I had the Lamb and it was beautiful with more than enough vegetables too. Highly recommended coming here, would always pre book for dinner as it's very popular!!!
Echo previous reviews and past experience of lunching here with walking groups; quick service from personable staff, good hearty and reasonably-priced meals from a sizeable menu. Add to this the drinks choice and comfortable interior and what more could you ask of a pub?
Went in at lunch time today after a 6 mile walk along the trailway. Fantastic welcome from the 2 ladies behind the bar and made such a fuss of our dog. Huge portions of food for us and Mia had dog biscuits and a bowl of water. Lovely and warm in there too. See you next week, our dog walks on a Monday will be arranged to pass through Stourpaine.
