A lovely warm cosy pub. Fabulous welcoming staff and excellent food. Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here with our 3 dogs. Would highly recommend.
Tried this pub after reading some of the reviews, and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was just excellent, more like a high class restaurant than a pub. The scotch egg was delicious and the chicken thigh in a delicious cream sauce was just stunning. The ice cream was the best I have ever had. We will definitely return. Thank you Emily, James & Desi.
First time there for me for a family Sunday lunch, limited menu, but what we had was excellent and the service the same. Another one of those nice small village pubs. Will use again when in the area.
Me, my partner and Jack Russell had the loveliest of welcomes here. Well kept ale and Guinness to die for all rounded off with an evening meal that was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend if you are in the area and definitely worth a journey if not. Big Thank You! Gary, Chris and Fannie xx
Such friendly and kind staff who made us feel so welcome, not to mention the lovely locals who struck up a conversation with us within minutes of walking in. To top it all off the food was absolutely delicious with very fresh ingredients and a varied menu. The chef also clearly cared about our enjoyment of it when she came out to chat to us. Looking forward to coming back often!
Emily is always so lovely. Food is always delicious. And we have always walked away having had a lovely experience. So good, you don't always want to share this best kept secret.
Absolutely lovely pub. Lovely lunch. Celeriac soup was fantastic. Ales well kept and beautiful. Recommended!!
Having just walked Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill with a different pub lunch planned, where we couldn't get in, with the help of Google Maps and the car we found The Bakers Arms. Here the welcome, from staff and a chap comfortably settled at the bar, was friendly and the wood-burner was welcome warmth after the cold outside. We had a delicious lunch, in my case halloumi bun with baba ganoush and chips and my daughter enjoyed scotch egg and millionaire chips worth the journey just for those. It's a great old world village pub, well worth a visit, on foot or in the car.
Although the staff were super friendly and helpful and our dog was made very welcome, it was a bit disappointing that only a cold Mediterranean buffet type lunch was available due to chef not being available due to Illness. However, it was super tasty and the beer was good. There is a beer garden but we didn't see this.
We had a Sunday birthday lunch at the Baker Arms and cant speak highly enough of the welcome and service we received. From the time we booked the staff ensured our needs were met - re menu choices ect. We were a group of 12 including 3 children. The table was laid complete with birthday confetti and the children were well catered for with child size cutlery, kids choices and drinks. Our meals were all beautifully presented and so tasty! The young lady serving us was helpful and very knowledgeable - explaining the local beers and wine choices. Over all we would highly recommend this as a great pub and place to eat.
