Very nice public house, smack in the centre of Canterbury. Really great on a cold night. Good choice of beers, and unlike a lot of places you don't pay through the nose for it. Generally plenty of seating available. I honestly think that the place is well worth a visit.
Went based on the reviews from Trip Advisor. Lovely pub, friendly staff, food was good and the local beer was delightful. The garden was a nice surprise. Would recommend
Food was delicious but the highlight was the service. On point, fast, friendly, and super respectful of COVID-19 rules. We had the same 2 waiters both nights brown hair, one with glasses. They worked socks off and were super attentive. Hope it gets noticed by the management. Thank you!
The main pub is lovely and great for food. Cosy comfy and friendly. I like the wine bar annexe through the courtyard. The best place to sit is the window seat. Try the Wine Flight, a chandelier-style taster tray with three wine tasting glasses.
Dealing well with the COVID restrictions that are in place, felt safe and always a lovely pint!
Excellent place to stop for a drink & food/snack lovely staff which is a bonus too...thanks
A great pub, nice food and friendly, welcoming staff. Seats uncomfortable if I may be picky. Some cushions perhaps dudes ?
Always a nice atmosphere in The Shakespeare. Good food and nicely placed in the city centre
