Faultless. One of the nicest meals I've ever eaten. They are doing absolutely everything right. Welcomed me & my family as walk ins with no reservation and were extremely accommodating to the children, 2 of whom are toddlers. Will be taking friends and family back for certain. We'll done everyone this is how to run a successful pub Food: 5/5
Very greating service Delicious food. great place, off the beaten track away from the city, perfect for a walk after a meal thanks a lot
Beautiful place nestled into a perfect spot, offering gorgeous views of rolling hills. Nice size car park, outdoor seating in front of the building and open garden ready for events and celebrations. Afternoon tea recommended you book in advance is offered. Vegetarian.optuons along with non vegetarian.optiins available throughout the menu. My partner and I went for lunch, he ordered fish and chips and I ordered the Strafford Cheese Burger. The fish and chips were described by my partner as "oh yummmm, dis is so good" while his mouth was full and his facial expression showing sheer joy. The chips on his plate were so big that they alone can be their own meal. My burger was delicious. The pretzel bun and presentation of the plate made me feel like I was back in Vegas at a burger spot on the strip. If you know you know. The table of ladies next to us ordered the Afternoon Tea. Delivered on the cutest miniature picnic table. Curious how many people try to steal those... Yes, they are that adorable. The coffee after, oh gosh. So good and nicely presented as well. The small chocolate.is a great touch. A must place to visit and eat. Enjoy a coffee after, it's worth the experience.
4th Visit… Decided to try the Lobster, was perfect and accompanied by Parmesan fries which completed the dish! Photo added 1st Visit… Fabulous food in a lovely setting with nice friendly staff! We had the sharing Tomahawk steak and were blown away by the meal, it was PERFECT!We turned up hungry and as there is a 40 min wait for that we ordered deserts first! Random, but worked a treat!
Great service fantastic food and great value for money ! The menu is amazing always using great locally sourced meat and vegetables and cheese's the real ale is great too !
Helpful staff when booking a party visit. Large car park and loads of outdoor seating. Inside is smart and comfortable. Food disappeared without complaint. BTW the afternoon tea looked amazing. Only downside was no hand pulled beers today! Normally have 2 standard beers available.
Amazing pub in a beautiful setting. This has been a really nice finding. We stopped for lunch and we have been pleasantly surprised. The service was great and the food really good. The extensive menu feature a great selection of food and drinks. Highly recommended.
Lovely looking pub with plenty of outdoor seating and large car park, very close to Wentworth Castle Gardens. Interior, though of very smart and modern decor, I found to be dark and slightly depressing as it is all 'greige'. Some staff were polite and pleasant. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. The chunky chips were reet grand, most enjoyable, but I found the 'Panzanella salad' very overpriced at £10.95 for what was basically a green salad. It looked nicely presented but £11..... There was a wait for my order to be taken, a wait for the food to arrive and, as seems a common occurrence from other reviews, no one bothered to come and ask if everything was ok, while bar staff were chatting and laughing together. I was sat in a corner and felt a bit forgotten about. I had been told by the chap at the 'pulpit lectern' at the entrance that my table was needed by 6pm. So I found it somewhat rich to be chivvied along and told my table was needed. I stated strongly that the only reason I was still sat where I was, was because of the long waits between service. If anyone had bothered to come and check, then they would have been informed of both the chipped platter and the waiting. The affable young barman with quality tattoos and nice smile did proffer, unprompted, to knock the price of the dessert off my bill, so that was handled satisfactorily. It's nice to give bouquets not just cricket bats in reviews, I like to be fair. What I found really unacceptable was the large white chip in the black bowl that the salad was served in, and it wasn't the edible kind of chip. It was a good centimetre long, was glaringly obvious and no way could it be missed by either the chef arranging the salad, nor by the shruggy waitress who served it. It seemed like a case of, that'll do, she won't notice. Wrong, it does not do, nor is it right, at any price, never mind the pricey end to serve food in chipped broken crockery. I felt the bowl would just be going back into the system, back into the washing up. Some staff need to be more attentive and need to change their shruggy response, paying a cold, unsmiling, mechanical, lip service apology which came across as arsey and insincere. I ate the hot chips first and then tipped the complete salad into the chip bowl as I was not eating out of a badly chipped bowl. Though the dessert I had was a miniscule portion with fresh berrieS plural, it came with one raspberry and one strawberry cut in half for £7.95! but hats off, it was absolutely delicious. I could taste it the whole one hour drive home, totally yummy lemon and blueberry cheesecake. And, it has to be remembered that though overpriced for the size, I was given the dessert free of charge due to the waiting times. The chips and the dessert were pretty amazing, just a shame about the other issues, little things that need to be tweaked, but I still rate it 4 star. And the barman with the tattoos was a lovely, polite young chap. Get rid of the broken crockery and never assume that it will do or be ok, that's just lazy, serving a customer with that - even charity shops through away chipped, broken crockery.
Excellent meal and very filling. Very polite and pleasant staff. We had a lovely evening and highly recommended. Plenty of parking and a lovely location for an evening out Parking: Plenty of parking available
Excellent portion afternoon tea with a range of snacks. We even had to take some home in a doggy bag! Staff were very attentive. The pubs decor was beautiful and very homely. Would definitely recommend & we will be visiting again ! :D
