Clean and comfortable hotel in a good location. My room was spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the walk-in shower hot and powerful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast included in the price of the room was pretty nice. Plenty of parking. Toby Carvery conveniently located on the same car park. WiFi signal strong and streaming quality decent in the evening, although my room on the first floor had a poor mobile signal.

Came here with a large group for a night, and we had fun. Service was good, the room was comfy, and the feel of the place felt like good quality. The pool table was a selling point, the lobby is nice and big. However the open shower in the room was a bit of a pain, and the wifi did not work.

Overall great service from all the staffs. Most problems were management issues and facilities problems. Check in was quick and plenty of free parking spaces available. The room was a mask up to be a modern room. The two beds were very small with high quality bed linens. The bathroom was a nightmare. The trash can couldn’t be used. Managers, please take 5 minute down to the rooms toilet trash can, and step on it. Did it flip over and rolled? Is this a joke? What type of person would implement such a useless simple thing that wouldn’t even work? Showers require a curtain, as the whole bathroom floor would be all wet after, not pleasant. The shower pressure in the room was not constant. Expect burning hot water and very cold water any second to be poured on you while having a shower. Very dangerous and horrifying. Stay away! No toothbrush, toothpaste, basic amenities provided. Just a handwash gel that you are expected to use for your head, body, and hand. Room lacks a tissue box. Door banging is very obvious in this hotel, very loud, not properly insulated. Expect a loud bang every now and then. Complimentary breakfast service was excellent but the choices of actual real edible food was horrible. End up with more drinks and packaged food, than actual cooked food. Overall worth around 5pounds. The room service communication where you had to message a phone number to get service because they didn’t want to install telephones in each room was non existent. I sent a message and was never replied to. If it’s not going to work, don’t implement it. Not recommended. Will try other hotels next time. There were 3-4 similar priced ones in barnsley. Ibis hotel was located away from the city center, come here only if you have your own car.

Nice clean design style. Incredibly comfy beds if, like me, you prefer a firm mattress.

Cheap price compare to most in the area. Staying two nights. Staff friendly, breakfast okay, but extra for cooked (better to eat across the road at Toby if you want cooked breakfast) Room good, but bed slightly uncomfortable. I’m disappointed more because I choices this hotel because the bar area seems like a great place to hang out, unfortunately I was not able to use the hotel facilities because of private functions which I didn’t know when booking nor was told when I checked in. I was confined to the small room and had to eat the food in my room. If I knew this beforehand I would have booked elsewhere as this was an important factor for my choice in hotel. To add insult, my room was located directly above the disco that plays until 12:30.
