Was ok for the money, apart from we felt rushed into ordering, as we have never been we wanted to look first, the waitress came and asked us if we where ready to order 3 times before we where ready, but they are very friendly, enjoyed the food
We were on the Motorway travelling home and needed a late lunch. It was easy to book a table online in the carpark. Toby have hospitality down to a tee. Their table and counter service was excellent. We don't go often, but have found their carvery a consistently good standard. They have a reasonable range of choice for special dietary requirements. You know what to expect and it's reasonably priced. Family friendly. Preferable to going to a fast food outlet. It's proper food.
The carvery, our favourite, is generous with meat. Four roasts to choose from is amazing. The vegetables are cooked to perfection and there is a good variety. And the gravy is tasty and of the right consistency. The staff are friendly and look happy. I do not think Toby at Dodworth can be improved upon. There is a Toby closer to where we live but prefer going to Dodworth.
Had breakfast. Really looking forward to having a full breakfast after seeing their advertisements for it in social media and when we saw their menu cards so we booked and went. Totally disappointing. Food was cold, mushrooms were disgusting, breakfast items were missing, the servers was filthy with spilled beans on it. They never cleaned up whilst we were there. As we went it it said on a board, ‘ no eggs available due to the avian flu breakout’ then there was scrambled egg available. The whole thing was awful. Cheap food, poor cleanliness levels and bad service. I told the staff my food was cold and all they said was ‘oh sorry about that’. It was t just us either, another couple had to ask for their food to be reheated despite having just fetched it from the servery . Will never go there again. Waste of money and really disappointing.
It was busy but not overcrowded. Didn't have to queue at the serving deck. I had a non meat carvery. Cauliflower in cheese sauce done to perfection. Enjoyed Leek crumble in sauce which was a new dish to me. The quality of the meal has improved massively with vegetables done just right. Firm but not hard or mushy. I thank you for the 50% discount off main mails so indulged in a pudding and coffee afterwards. Vegetarian options: Prefer dairy and meat free. Looking forward to vegan ice cream and low sugar diabetic options. Parking: Disabled parking
First time visiting and will be back for sure. Choice of 3 meats, all perfectly cooked and as much vegetables as you can fit on your plate with the option to return for more. Price for food was excellent and staff attentive. Very pleased we stopped off on a wet Saturday afternoon. Parking: Plenty of free parking all on one level with wheelchair access
Mostly good. Some of the food wasn't really hot. It was quite noisy with children but there's not much you can do about that. Serving tongs were all over the place, meaning you were getting bits of different types of food in the tureens. Otherwise, service was good and attentive. Food tasted nice. All things considered seemed good value for money.
Family lunch out, not been here for ages but was really impressed. Super busy but we had booked so the table was pretty much ready. Food and meat selection was great, slightly missed 5 stars as our Yorkshire’s were a bit over cooked. Server Amy was so lovely and helpful, def going back again. Tip - book!!
Typical carvery. I nearly always have turkey and it depends at what stage the carved bird is when you get to it! On this day it was approaching the end and the server was carving bits here and bits there. I prefer a couple of nice slices! It was a little bit dry but OK. Veg was fine, I like the crispy, a bit overdone roast potatoes and I only have peas and carrots which were OK too. The gravy tureens needed stocking up.
Staff wonderful as always. Ate at around 7.45pm, the food wasn't great, the mash had dark Lumps in but the server said it was just where other people had dipped spoons from other foods in there, I didn't have any as it looked awful. My friend was given a Yorkshire pudding that he couldn't cut as it was so hard. If they serve this late the food served should still be fit to eat.....
