My friend and I visited here for the first time, we both chose the Sunday veggie nut roast, which was very tasty. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The pub is very dog orientated and we were greeted by their delightful Jack Russell, Arthur. The pub has the unusual addition of a skittle alley, which was very busy. They also have nights when they have a pizza van outside but don't serve pub food on those nights. I would recommend booking before going. All in all a good experience.
Visited Sunday lunchtime, had lamb roast: excellent quality and flavours, well cooked across all elements, decent sized portion. The Harvey's ale and lager were very good. Friendly and efficient staff.
Brilliant Sunday dinner, with local melt-in-the-mouth roast beef from Offham Farm, absolutely delicious, even came with cauliflower cheese! Had a gorgeous homemade apple crumble with cream for afters, what more could you want! The outside marquee they've set up is really lovely and great service too, was a real pleasure to spend a Sunday afternoon here
Nice pub, food not bad, a bit school dinnerish, drinks a little over priced, Skittle alley great fun.
I'm sorry to the pub manager, but I'm afraid I would not recommend this pub. It's one of the poorest country pubs we've been to. The state of the front of the pub with a large gazebo in a poor, neglected state and with tatty furniture and an accumulation of waste items is a fairly accurate analogy if what to expect from within. The only food available when we visited was a burger menu. Prices for a burger and some coleslaw were £8, which is steep. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for it to be served. When it arrived, the quality was not good and I didn't enjoy eating it. All in all, it was a disappointing experience and we felt the pub needs attention in all areas. We won't be returning, sadly, but at least there are several other pubs nearby to try out next time.
Skittles alley is good fun, drinks price's a bit over the odds.
Fantastic pub and staff are lovely, will definitely be returning!
They were busy event however, managed to provide us with a couple of very tasted burgers. It took a while hence the 4 stars.
When I arrived the one door was pretty much blocked with children and their parents... children were running in and out and in the road.. when I did get inside it looked like a store for second hand setees, great for those that like it but did gobble space. Played skittles, great fun... beer, good Harveys... buffet, OK... staff, great.. I would go back..
Cheerful traditional pub in attractive village. Real ale and comfortable outside seating. Food available.
