The place I met my wife some 44 years ago so it is always going to get a high rating from me. It's layout is almost identical to when I first started drinking in there nearly 50 years ago. It was my local and I also worked behind the bar for a few years. Go in and raise a glass to long lasting unions.
Haven't been to this pub for a while but decided to pop in last Friday evening to see there was a DJ performing and the atmosphere was brilliant. Staff very friendly. Great music. Top night.
Not a bad pub, when you get past the yolkals trying to let you know it's their pub and you're an outsider it's fine. When they approach you in the beer garden to try and intimidate you just pour the rest of your drink on the floor and ask them where they want the glass. Works a treat
With a landlord who takes pride in his development of the pub, and live music two or three nights of the week, this is a place that can be quiet and cosy, or loud and jolly, depending on when you visit. The guest beers exhibit variety, are well-kept, and change regularly: and the pub has a strong commitment to enhancing musical performance in Lewes. Entertainment ranges from traditional folk sessions to psychedelic prog rock. For a particularly restful experience, try to get the sofa in the small bar on a quiet afternoon or evening. Free Wi-Fi is available. A small garden permits smoking and conversion on louder nights. Well-behaved children and dogs are welcome.
A lively place that often has live music. Plenty of options for drinking. Two separate bars for options to sit down and relax. Friendly staff and a traditional pub feel.
Great band and atmosphere. But you have black mould covering the ladies toilets. Could be solved with a £4 spray from a supermarket and some elbow grease. Yet you choose to let it go? While people ingest the spores.
Absolutely fantastic place for live music, the drinks aren't the cheapest but there's no admission fee for events, check their Facebook to see what's playing.
Enormous range of gins, nice decor and had great music on the night we were there. Bit on the pricey side though
Nice pub, busy on the weekends, but there is a long wait at the bar when it does get busy.
Friendly staff. Loads of different Gin. Tasty pizzas. Well worth a visit.
