"Character pub with delightful cosy bar area with fireplace and chesterfield sofas. The restaurant has great views of the sussex downs and the menu is varied. The beer garden is a real sun trap."

Lovely little pub near Lewes. Great for an after walk lunch, nice beer garden and friendly staff. The Sunday carvery was excellent, both the meat and veggie dishes. Does get busy, so book if you can.
We went here and had the mid week carvery and was not disappointed. Generous servings of meat and all cooked to perfection. The dessert was just as delicious and also well proportioned. The gentleman that served us and all the staff were super friendly.
Best bit: dogs are welcome! Excellent carvery, tasty and plentiful, on a Wednesday evening. Great customer service we were served by Adam, a hardworking young chap. Little advice: since dogs are allowed in and around the premises, it would make sense to have a couple of bins one at the front, next to the parkinv lot, one in the outdoor garden at the back to dipose of dogs "gifts", as we found ourselves walking inside the restaurant with the poop bags to ask for a bin. Still 5 stars for the service Parking: Free
Lovely Sunday carvery, great food, great staff and great atmosphere. What more do you want.Highly recommended
Tasty food, very kind stuff and good atmosphere. Highly recommended! :
5*+ for this pub food was fantastic one of the best carvery I have had in a long time staff were helpful, pleasant & all had smiling faces. Food was reasonably priced for 4 people carvery and pudding and drinks come £90. We will be returning as we had a good time her. So keep up the good work Food: 5/5
Very nice country pub. Extremely welcoming and good food. Under new management. Menu is due to be revamped to take into account more dietary needs which is nice. The food on the current one such as the homemade pies are very nice. Reasonably priced and dog friendly. Highly recommended
A fabulous Wednesday roast - tender beef, crispy roast potatoes and a great choice of vegetarian options. And really friendly, good service.
Although quiet on a Friday lunchtime due to poor weather, the welcome couldn't have been warmer and great pub fare. The menu had just enough extra thought put into it to ensure it wasn't run of the mill but equally met great pub food expectations.Food: 5/5
Really was excellent - Carvery was really fresh and good!, great meats- cauliflower cheese 10/10, yorkshires 10/10- my wife loved the veggie wellington. Service great - Sophie is an asset to your team held our dog whilst we got our food and vegetables. Manager was a friendly chap! Will defo return as was simply awesome
