Fantastic service and beautiful building. Breakfast was lovely too. The only problem I had was the lack of a mirror. Although normally it wouldn't be a problem, I was staying because I was attending a concert and wanted to put on make up. The only mirror was in the bathroom and the lighting was far from adequate. Maybe it is down to the room was the room I chose 'cosy double'.
Loving this hotel. Staff are all amazing and the hotel has all the grandeur and elegance of yesteryear with all the modernities needed in your room. Breakfasts are excellent and the filter coffee in a silver teapot is divine! Park at the railway station and the hotel can be accessed from inside the station, so convenient.Rooms: 5/5
5******* Amazing service& location, had drinks and light bites at Grand Pacific. Staff were attentive understanding and could not do enough. Rate these days to find staff so understanding and helpful.
This hotel is the epitome of class and style and a must stay destination as a special treat. The service was outstanding at every step and couldn't find fault in any aspect of our stay. It's central location makes getting around the city a breeze with everything you need right on your doorstep. Would highly recommend a stay here Rooms: Comfortable double beds and all the facilities and amenities you would need for a short stay Walkability: Great central location has it within walking distance of the train station and all central amenities
Super hotel, almost next door to the train station entrance. The staff are all lovely and the cosy double room was great. There was a great choice for breakfast, so I should think there's something to suit everyone. The photos are the view from my window. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Rooms: The room was clean and just the right size.
After booking a room to stay following a Wedding blessing, my curiosity about the hotel was piqued. Despite a few family members expressing that it was not what it used to be, we decided to put our trust in our curiosity. Upon arriving, the entrance was delightful but bustling on a Saturday. The room was very underwhelming, with a small shower and areas that were not cleaned properly. We discovered two bugs in the bed, and every door closed with a loud slam throughout the day and night. The key provided did not grant access to facilities like the gym, which was unkempt with no towels offered to guests, and the air conditioning was faulty. The barista bar for coffee remained closed due to understaffing, leaving us with only Nescafé unless we ordered food. The hotel was crowded, making dining there a noisy affair. Attempts to request more teabags and fresh milk were met with unresponsiveness from housekeeping, with reception eventually responding but being impolite. Despite requesting teabags and milk for room 438, we received extra teabags for room 435 and no milk. The breakfast experience was chaotic, with staff appearing stressed and the room lacking windows and way too busy. The buffet service offered food of quality comparable to a motorway services stop. Hidden costs were not made clear when placing orders, resulting in delays and unsatisfactory dishes like untoasted sourdough with smoked salmon and eggs. Coffee options were limited to filtered, with no availability of flat white or cappuccino. Feeling dissatisfied, we ventured out in the rain to find better coffee, only to be charged £2 for an umbrella. Regrettably, we will not be returning to this establishment. The Queens hotel should uphold its reputation as a cherished institution, yet it now resembles an overpriced travel lodge
After reading other reviews we booked this hotel for a Friday stay. Parked in the station station carpark which was recommended by the hotel £18 for 24hrs with hotel discount off The walk from the carpark to the hotel was only a couple of minutes. We managed to check in at 1pm as the room was ready, very speedy process and the guy who check us in was very helpful and friendly. The hotel location is great and the hotel deco was fantastic. The rooms are nice, clean and modern with a comfy bed. The bathroom shower was quite big and was probably one of the best showers I've had in a hotel.
We stayed one night for a wedding at the hotel, before we arrived we were contacted as there was a problem with the suite we had booked and we were asked if we could move rooms, this actually ended up suiting us better as we ended up with 2 adjoining superior rooms. The gentleman in reservations who helped us with this was a delight. All staff were helpful and friendly, there was a minor problem with a pillow that was sorted quickly. Rooms were spacious and clean. The treats in the room were very welcome on arrival. Only complaint would be that the lifts get very busy and there's only 2 of them, our room was 4th floor and facing the square, it was a bit noisy outside but that is to be expected in a city centre on a Saturday night next to the train station! The bar could have done with another member of staff. Breakfast was delicious. It would have helped us to know the road in front is no longer accessible and to access the station car park, coming off the motorway a junction before is advised! We would definitely stay here again, although we would probably get the train!
Good location but lacks basic hygiene standards. The hotel has clearly been recently renovated, its such a shame that our bathroom was not cleaned properly, hair in the tub from previous guest and the sink was disgustingly dirty. Brought this up to reception’s attention and all i got was an apology. Disappointed!Rooms: 2/5
Stayed for one night as we were in Leeds for a concert at the First Direct Arena. Hotel is a perfect location, very central for food and entertainment venues. The staff were very friendly, and the reception is welcoming. We had a slight issue with our room but it was all resolved immediately and the staff were more than happy to help. Had such a peaceful night and felt well rested the next day, the room and hotel in general were both well decorated and clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
