Been wanting to try this place for many years and eventually called in on Saturday lunchtime. Lovely welcome by the staff who showed us to the last table in the bar. Wow, what an amazing lunch, imaginative we'll cooked delicious food. There was no rushing which was good as I just wanted to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the place. Really enjoyed, we will be back quite soon I suspect! Food & drinks: Extensive wine list, cocktails and locally brewd beers.
You get what you pay for. This place isn’t cheap but worth every penny ! Absolutely immaculate, ideally located and outstanding food. Staff are friendly abs professional. We return here year after year. Consistently high standards. Food & drinks: Great wine selection and local sourced top quality produce
Birthday celebration meal yesterday evening at the Peacock. Service was discreet but friendly. Food full of delicious flavours presented to a high standard. Thank you for the birthday card, such a lovely touch. We will be back.Service: 5/5
An incredibly dissatisfied lunch experience. Whilst the food & service were good I was overcharged by £32 . A helpful response where I was told that a mistake had been made and a refund would be made - except they took another £32 from my account- oh dear another phone call so I’m now down over £100 for a approximate £38 lunch and it’s going to take 2/3 days to get a refund - hopefully! Happy Christmas! Nearby activities: Derbyshire Peaks
We had the valentines taster menu and it was absolutely superb. The service was fantastic and they went over and above to accommodate my food allergy, and changed dishes as needed.Service: 5/5
Excellent food and service in a lovely old hotel built from stone. There is a welcoming warm feeling of home when one enters the building. The quaint public rooms along with an outstanding restaurant and cosy bar with fireplace and a real fire make this a must do for those that like the finer things in life. Food & drinks: Very good food and excellent wine list.
I had a lovely 3-night stay at The Peacock! I booked the stay to get some much needed R&R and to do some walking in the Peaks with my brother and that is exactly what I got. The staff were really helpful, the food was delicious, the garden was very peaceful and the breakfast was exceptional the Eggs Benedict was a highlight! I really liked the morning newsletter with interesting facts and a daily riddle, a really nice touch. I would definitely stay here again!!
This hotel is not ‘dog friendly’ - it is dog tolerant and I believe there is a difference. You cannot have any meals either in the dining room ok but not in the bar or lounge either accompanied by your faithful hound. I did not take kindly to the suggestion to leave my dog in the car having driven for many hours to get there. The hotel and rooms are comfortable but a small fridge would have been a good idea to have fresh milk with tea or in my case to store dog food. Considering the room rate I was surprised at the lack of amenities. There was no dog bowl for water or anything for Fido to sleep on. There are plenty of very good local options at half the price that welcome dogs. You can however book a days fishing direct with the hotel and although it wasn’t mentioned by reception, entrance to Haddon Hall is free if you stay there no dogs there either even in the grounds . No EV car charger but one at the pub next door. The staff were nice but I wouldn’t book again.
A beautiful meal served at the renowned Peacock Hotel. Make sure to check out gardenService: 5/5
AMAZING place, I booked here for a treat for us and for a bit of fly fishing for my partner. After booking the peacock, they confirmed my booking and were kind enough to ask about dinner and whether we wanted to book. The peacock sorted out my partners fly fishing day ticket. The hotel itself is quaint, with some lovely old features, staff are so helpful, polite and couldn't do more for you. We really had a great time. Room was fab and breakfast was lovely, being able to sit outside and enjoy the garden in the sunshine was great. The only I would say is that our break needed to be longer, we will deffo be back again. Thankyou for your lovely hospitality Michelle and Craig
