We booked for lunch on a weekend. We were looking after a friend's dog so were taking him around the Peak District and fortunately many of the pubs are dog friendly, including the Castle.nWe arrived earlier than expected but they had no problem accommodating us. We had a lovely table for two in a window bay with room enough for Mr Milo the lurcher to find a spot under the table to chill.nThe service and the food was really good, it's a lovely pub, inviting and homely. Certainly worth a visit, I know we'll be back.
Only called for some food, as its dog friendly and has a car park. Not really disabled friendly as has plenty of steps, one of which my husband didn't see as he came in through from outside bright light and into a dimly lit place and didn't see the steps, and went a cropper cutting his hand ,but thanks to 2 people helping him back to his feet. The food was good though.
We booked last minute for a table of 10 on a Sunday and they fit us in with no problem. Start to finish the service was excellent and food came really quickly. Lovely food and cosy atmosphere with the fire. Highly recommend thank you.
We had a great week at Bakewell. We frequented The Castle every day and sometimes twice a day as we loved the atmosphere. The food and drinks were good and the service excellent.nBig shout out for Kayleigh, she was amazing. Always had a smile on her face and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Kayleigh.nWe must say the whole team were great. They really worked well together. We have never seen a team work as well as this team from management down. They worked hard to make the customers feel welcome. They dressed the pub according to the events happening at the time and they dress it well. The Manager was actively putting up the Christmas decorations as well as supporting staff as the pub got quite busy.nWill definitely go back. Thank you to you all.nChris and Phil. Xx
Had a lovely lunch, food was really good staff were very friendly but strangely the service was very slow, we had to rush our meals as the town carpark ticket was running out. Will allow more time next time
