We had breakfast here and it was really nice. The menu was good and the staff were friendly. After breakfast, we popped downstairs to the shop and bought some Bakewell puddings to take home. They were absolutely delicious with custard. They serve them in the cafe too so grab one there if you can.

Breakfast was good. Portions were very generous for Afternoon tea for one set but I couldn’t finish them as they were too sweet. Fruit cake was a bit dry too. Good atmosphere though.

Bakewell is a delightful if touristy town. However the pies are delicious! This particular shop has bakery, large souvenir area & restaurant above. I had a cream tea which eould have been better with a warm scone (not out of fridge!) But it was a cold day Parked in market square.

The bakery advertises and offers the ability to mail a pudding anywhere in the world. Being a naive tourist, I bought into this and paid them to have it delivered to a friend in Canada as a souvenir. After 3 months and a repeated delivery it still hasn't arrived. Additionally, the bakery refuses to use any service with a simple tracking number so I have no clue what happened to them. As far as I'm aware they could have completely ignored the delivery since there's no way for me to know. Don't waste your money.

I love this place. The food is very good, and of course the Bakewell Pudding did not disappoint. Don't think you've ever experienced real Bakewell Pudding until you've been here...Mr Kipling doesn't count! It's really nicely decorated inside too. Definitely worth a visit.
