We have been stranded in Bakewell in the snow and we luckily managed to get a room for a few nights till the roads open again.. the food here is amazing .. staff are so so friendly and helpful and the rooms are really good too. I'll defiantly be back soon to try the Sunday lunch which also has been highly recommended.. well done guys and thanks for having us we have really enjoyed the stay.. see you soon under more pleasant circumstances

Had another great one night stay here. We stayed in the rooms above the pub. We ate in the pub in the evening which was definitely five stars. Breakfast was also five stars unfortunately we struggled with the coffee machine as we only drink tea and would've preferred a kettle. Would definitely return!

I have to admit that upon reading the reviews I was somewhere sceptical about how genuine they might be. Could the food really be that good? Well, I can wholeheartedly say that indeed yes, yes the food is THAT good. I had the best muscles I have ever eaten. Food was fresh, delicious and generously portioned. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were lucky to get a table as all others were reserved (mid week, mid winter) so recommend booking.

Had a lovely experience here! Would highly recommend this pub. Food was the best pub food I’d ever tasted. We had the soup to start which was the Broccoli and Stilton soup and it was to die for! And mains were just as lovely! Compliment to chef who cooked on the 23rd December. Members of staff were very helpful and well mannered. Will be visiting again! Best pub in Bakewell!

People often come into my shop and ask where is somewhere nice to eat. There's no real contest, this pub is home cooked food just how mum does it. But hey don't take my word try yourselves and I look forward to reading your comments. Oh it's dog friendly and has a free car park for patrons.
