Mitre Portswood is the go to place for a good meal and a good ambience. They’re very attentive and provide fantastic customer service. I had Quorn Katsu Curry with flavoured rice vegetarian, it was yummy . As a vegetarian myself, I would be happy if more vegetarian options are added to the menu. Apart from that, everything else is superb!
A Great place to visit when in Southampton staff so friendly and great meet lovely people there . I be going back there again next time I am back in Southampton just get the bus u1c and get of at Portswood just walk back up and you are there The bus stop back to airport is across the road within 15 minutes great pub to go to . I be back from now on brilliant place to go
We pop in here once a week for a drink and catch up with family, and recommend it as a friendly place. However, last weekend, we noticed food being delivered to tables, with an absolutely filthy cloth,being used to carry plates. I told the staff member my concerns and he replied " what do you expect me to do about it " We complained and have been contacted and apologised to, but we won't be eating there.
We love it here. We come very often, due to the 241 meals. Great prices and service. Please always keep the quorn katsu curry it's delicious. It deserves 5 stars because it is one of very few places that seem to care about what people can afford.Food: 5/5
My first visit to the Mitre to meet friends for the football. We didn't eat although the food looked great. Even though it was busy due to the football the staff worked hard to serve everyone very quickly which was appreciated. Good facilities pool tables etc, plenty of screens and a sizeable pub. Will definitely be back.Service: 5/5

My first time here sharing Sunday lunch with a group of people over 60. We really enjoyed our meals. I had roast turkey, roast potatoes, veg, and Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Followed by a huge portion of Apple pie and custard. Also had a double gin and tonic. Remarkable value for money and delicious too! The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble!
Yesterday was the second time my family and I visited the mitre and we will definitely be coming back! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great too. The staff at the bar are incredibly nice and helpful! Thank you for a great experience!Food: 5/5
Could do with a bit of renovation and cleaning! Venue was a bit smelly and sticky. Glass on which the drink served on still had lipstick mark from previous punter presumably and not been washed well. Did not bother to complain as the staff already looked tired and not very approachable. Food tasted good but overall experience was poor therefore won't be returning.
Arrived at the Mitre with a group of friends to do pub golf. The staff were friendly and efficient at serving us. Mostly got drinks rather than any food.Service: 4/5
