I like the customer service and the ambiance. The food is good, but as for the vegetarian it’s very limited. I would happily recommend this place for a good meal out with friends and family. *adding more vegetarian menu will make vegetarians like me happy Vegetarian options: Vegetarians will be happy if more vegetarian meal choices are available.

I really like this little pub, friendly atmosphere, good value quality/price, service good,can get busy after 5pm but still enjoyable as well educated younger people coming in also.Surprised to find this kind of pub as I am still new in Southampton and trying to discover the city. Well done to the owners. PS. Patience with the dog as he is harmless and elderly but the dog owner checking on him if he wonder away to ask attention from customers.
Brilliant pub with wonderful staff and clientele. What a hidden gem- get there before they become infamous. They are growing in popularity and rightly so. Kind towards guests and dogs, great food, always a chat and a friendly face. A lot of good things are going to happen around this pub…. It’s going to be even more lovely than it already is.
We used to live down the road and this was and still is our local. I planned a suprise party and the crown did not disappoint! Thank you to the lovely staff for preparing a wonderful table and decorations, and making it a fantastic evening. Vegetarian options: I enjoyed the vegetarian kievs Parking: About 20 free parks and never full. Kid-friendliness: Good pub for children, families and students. Safe and friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Minimal bumps to go over to get into the crown, friendly staff to help. Toilet is potentially a squeeze depending on wheelchair.
A shadow of the pub it once was. Pie was over cooked. Sausage and mash was fine. Prices are reasonable. Lack of atmosphere - it seems a bit bare - windows need dressing perhaps. Beer choice not great imo. Seems to have deteriorated since they stopped serving Timothy Taylors Landlord. HSB - which is a bit strong, is the only decent beer option.
Good pub food and friendly service & atmosphere. Beer well served but let down with a rather pedestrian choice of 4 very similar mid brown malty beers. The whole place could do with a lick of paint as well.
A lovely pub and the food looked amazing, although we only popped in for a quick pint. A good choice of lagers, ciders and ales. Saturday is probably the best day to pop in.Service: 5/5
Was here having lunch and one of the regulars dogs pissed on the sofa. On a separate occasion it peed on the leg of a chair, and I've seen other customers playing fetch with a dog inside the pub. Really bizarre behaviour and I don't enjoy going out for lunch and having dogs running around the pub peeing on the furniture. I could maybe forgive a one off mistake but the fact it keeps happening says a lot. Such a shame as the new owners have done a pretty good job of bringing this pub back to life but it's ruined by entitled regulars.
Extremely good old fashioned sorta place for a chat and a pint. Andy one of the owners is a particularly jovial and tubby red nosed landlord who is always ready with a laugh and a joke. Highly recommended by me.Food: 5/5
