Great place for a gig or a sunny afternoon outside. Lots of seating and cool Tolkien style decor. Drink deals, lots of taps and cocktails. Good gig room and excellent sound with stage and gear store room. Massive outdoor space with seating, covered pool table, ye olde pizza shoppe, an actual castle and boat. Great wee gem in Southampton, you need ID to get in.
Brilliant alternative pub, large beer garden, huge range of cheap cocktails/beers/shots and lots of fun events on throughout the year. The staff are really friendly and keep everyone safe. I've not eaten here but been told the pizzas are delicious.Food: 5/5
Visited this pub while friends birthday! As someone from Northern Ireland I can't believe how big the beer garden is. The staff are super friendly, drinks are at an affordable prices. Would defo come again when visiting again!Food: 5/5
WOW WOW WOW. What an amazing space. This is my favourite pub ever. The severs are so so lovely and where really nice to me. The inside of the pub has a friendly and busy but not overwhelming atmosphere. The interior is decorated like various fantasy locations. Whether you want to drink or not there are plenty of colourful cheap drink to choose from. There is an inside and outside space and a pizza oven behind the pub. I really recommend coming here ! Located 5 mins walk from a train station and there is a small car park opposite. Felt very safe here.
The Hobbit is a cornerstone of pre drinking before a night out or a great evening that feels a bit more exotic than just the pub. Decent prices, strong drinks, huge tiered outside area makes it feel really nice and warm even in the colder months. And the location is fantastic for going down into down or up into portswood.Service: 5/5
all the staff is so kind and helpful, the drinks are also so whimsical and fun! jemma/gemma helped me a lot when i threw up and comforted me! i appreciate it a lot and will definitely come back again because of the inviting atmosphere and beautiful, interesting environment! Food: 5/5
The Hobbit is one of those places that has just, 'been there forever.' Luckily, it's never lost its charm or sense of wonder. The pint cocktails have been a staple of this place for decades, and they're still just as fun now as they were then! The outdoor area is great in the summer, and the band room for live music means that those who just want a quiet drink can enjoy their time as much as the revellers want to. The Hobbit is a treasure, and long may it shine!
Really nice pub, very cheap drinks and good size for your money. Good vibes, however slightly disappointed it has nothing to do with the lord of the rings anymore. A ton of dungeons and dragons related drinks instead now. If you're not a student you might feel a bit out of place as I did! Being older has its downsides!
After travelling a hour or more to visit with a large group of us for a special occasion. Food was shut, not enough people in so they threw us out an our early, no t-shirts for the drinking challenge, staff laughing between themselves and making weird noises at us us ordering a full drinking challenge! Female manager was quite professional but the man seemed like he was on something! No Lord of the Rings theme because they got sued, so they took it all down. Disappointed, doesn’t cover it, didn’t expect to go to pizza express instead of eating at the pub either.
Good drinks and good vibes. Perfect for any occasion. Some questionable customers but that is no fault of the establishment
