Reopened by Jen who has done an excellent job on making The Alex an authentic pub experience again. They cater to pretty much anyone with quirky memorabilia on the walls, darts, pool, video games and a massive secret back garden with intimate booths. It ticks all the right boxes and it's also family and pet friendly. Also the burgers are in my humble opinion the best I've had and I'm not really a burger guy plus they cater to all my veggie and vegan friends too. Photo's to follow next time I visit. Check out this hidden gem and I guarantee you will not be let down. Vegetarian options: They have pescatarian, veggie and vegan options. Kid-friendliness: They have video games. Enough said.

Always a very relaxed place, especially at lunch times. The food is a good price and tastes amazing. If you want a bite and a drink highly recommend stopping by, or if you are planning an extended stay, then nab one of the board games from the side and have a good time.Food: 5/5

We just popped in for a late lunch. We both had burgers which were really good. The chips were amazing. Maybe a little expensive but that’s the times we’re living in. Service was fast and friendly. It’s a nice place. The atmosphere was a little dead but that was likely due to the time we visited.Food: 5/5
We don’t live too far from the Alex and it’s great to find a brilliant pub under new ownership just around the corner! Saw some people with food last weekend so we ordered the smash burgers and were not disappointed. Great portion sizes and amazing burgers with lovely chunky chips which is different from skinny fries at other places. Really friendly staff too which creates a really nice vibe to the whole pub. Recommend for friends to come sit in the beer garden as well as families to come for food.
A quirky pub in an area where you don't really notice it. However, friendly staff and great burgers and beer/larger.Food: 5/5
Nice little stage space for bands. Awesome room with a big choice of gaming systems to play on. Girls toilets were a bit inconvenient though when I went as one was broken and the other's door didn't have a latch or lock. Nice little pub to have a drink in though.
