We spent a night here, and had a lovely time. I love the elegant decor of the midland, and the receptionist was very sweet. Our room was very nice. We had cocktails at the bar, lovely servers however it took about 15 minutes to be served our drinks and about 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches to arrive. All in all it was very enjoyable, and breakfast was fab. Looking forward to staying again.
This is a five star hotel. The hotel is well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Special mention to Todd on the champagne bar who made us feel extremely welcome and valued.nGood atmosphere for a Monday night.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel last night. The room was lovely, the place was clean and staff very friendly and professional. The bed was so comfy. The interior decor is absolutely gorgeous. The location was perfect as it was in the city centre and close to everything but also not near any loud clubs. The walls in between rooms are thick as I'm a light sleeper but were not disturbed once by other guests
This was a treat from my wife and was my second visit to the Midland Hotel but my wife’s first. I told her how wonderful the hotel was from my previous visit and hoped that she would love it as much as I did. I shouldn’t have worried. She absolutely loved it. Stayed 2 nights in February for a weekend break and treated ourselves to a spa treatment each. Spa was amazing and the treatments were fantastic. The staff in there were lovely and friendly. Ate on our first night inside the hotel. Service was great and the food lovely. The only negative was the bar prices and lack of enough staff to look after people in the seating area around the bar. There was only 1person wandering around looking after customers and I estimated more than 50 customers in the bar area.nNeeded at least 2 more to cater for the amount of customers they were dealing with. Bar profits would pay for their wages I’m sure. Won’t put us off returning. Plan to visit again soon. Probably go for drinks down the road . Lots of lovely bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
Poor experiencenWe had stayed at this hotel with the same deal at Christmas and we couldn’t fault the experience, it was lovely and we could not wait to return. However, this time was much different. Our room was lovely however the heating did not work and there was a stain in the bed. We went down to reception to inform them of the issue and asked to either move room or have someone change the bedding and fix the heater. We were told we could not move room but someone would come to our room to sort the bedding and heating. Someone did come to try fix the heating which still did not work. No one ever came to change the bedding. The spa was fully booked so we were unable to go despite paying for this. Then we had a 3 course meal booked and the experience for this was extremely poor. Service was extremely slow despite there only been two other couple in the restaurant. Choice on the menu was extremely limited. We waited over an hour for our main with my burger coming out completely raw which I sent back and was told a new one would be made which I then waited half an hour for and had to eat alone as my partner had finished. We were then told the fridge had broken so there was only one dessert left. We were very disappointed as we didn’t receive anything as an apology. The hotel looks really nice and is in a great location but unfortunately we will not be returning again.
