Just had a 1 night stay with my partner at the Midland Hotel. We have been here before for drinks and food, but this was our first time staying.nnWe did arrive early and our room was not ready, which is perfectly understandable. The receptionist took our luggage and we made full use of the bar, which was well stocked and had plenty of seating.nnUnfortunately we did end up having to wait a lot longer for our room an hour past our check in time. However, the reception team made us very comfortable and we ended up with two sets of free drinks and two free breakfasts, which was more than acceptable for the inconvenience.nnWhen we did get into the suite, we found it to be perfect, well maintained and beautifully presented.nnWe had room service food delivered, again it was delicious and good quality. £7 delivery charge for room service was a little steep though.nnThe spa was nice for the free hour, however I wouldn’t pay for any additional time as an hour was more than enough. I can’t comment on any treatments they offered as we didn’t have any.nnCheck out was a breeze as it was all done online.nnEvery member of staff we spoke with were friendly and helpful. All a great credit to the hotel!nnOverall it was a lovely relaxing stay, yes there were some slight problems, but they were well dealt with and the free drinks/breakfast more than covered any inconvenience caused.
The hotel is well laid out. You're welcomed with a very nice smell in the lobby. The rooms were good, beds comfy and the right amenities in the rooms.nThe meeting rooms were well sized and had large TVs available. Service at the front desk was quick and polite. All good so far.nOrdering room service was a very poor experience, all of us waited and hour and a half and weren't communicated with. I ended up cancelling and heading to a local restaurant. I understand the restaurant wait was also an hour and a half in the evening.nThe hotel location is good, with a tram station nearby and lots of local restaurants.nHowever the room service caused us quite a bit of an issue at the end of a long day. For the price I expected a lot better here.
The friendliest staff, nothing is a bother. The breakfast waitrons are some of the loveliest people I have met as they enquire about your personal well-being. The hotel smells wonderful as you walk in through the doors. Clean and welcoming. It was our first stay but we will definitely be back!!
Gorgeous hotel with luxury amenities. The spa is fantastic. The room was good - it needs updating and there are cracks in the tiles on the floor in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast is wonderful.
Terrible sleepsn**Review of the Midland Hotel Manchester**nnDuring my recent stay at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, I found several aspects of the experience both delightful and disappointing.nn**Pros:**nn1. **Nice Breakfast:** The breakfast spread was impressive, offering a wide variety of delicious options that catered to different tastes. It was a great way to start the day.nn2. **Spacious Room:** The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax and unwind.nn3. **Good Looking Bar Area:** The bar area was stylish and inviting, making it an excellent spot to enjoy a drink in the evening.nn**Cons:**nn1. **Air-Conditioning Issues:** Unfortunately, the air-conditioning in my room did not work. It was apparent that the hotel was aware of this issue, as there were extra fans placed in the room. This felt like a deceptive practice, and it left me feeling tricked. The lack of proper cooling made it difficult to sleep because the room felt like a sauna.nn2. **Misguided Reception Staff:** When I asked the reception staff for directions to the spa area, they provided incorrect information, sending me to a different floor. This was frustrating and inconvenient.nn3. **Ignored Room Request:** Despite emailing in advance to request a bath in my room, this request was ignored. Consequently, I had to move rooms twice during my stay, which was a significant inconvenience.nnI chose to stay at the Midland Hotel to take my wife on a romantic weekend for our anniversary. These issues significantly impacted what was meant to be a special and memorable occasion.nnOverall, while the Midland Hotel has some excellent features, there were several service issues that detracted from the overall experience. I would appreciate a resolution to these problems, as they significantly affected our stay. Addressing these issues would greatly improve the experience for future guests and restore my confidence in the hotel.
