Tired decor and a slightly awkward atmosphere which I think is down to the reception staff, it's just a bit haphazard, however for the price I'll get over it. The bar area is comfortable and I would stay here again. Oh and the walls are paper thin....I certainly couldn't help but laugh at the couple in the room next to mine for every 2 minutes every other hour throughout the night, it got slightly tedious mind!! All in all, I'd say it's decent value for money for a short city break but if I was there fir more than one night I seriously consider one of the many other similar priced hotels in the area.

Breakfast very good. Sometimes can be surprisingly noisy, depending on who is in neighbouring rooms. They need to refrain from putting quiet, single people and loud couples and families next door to each other. Hotel has potential. Stayed recently and there was a lot of wandering in and out of rooms. At night/early hours. Opening and closing doors. This meant I did not get any sleep. A nice warm bath to be enjoyed. Stayed here since this review and got looked after. Therefore well done Britannia Manchester.

I stayed at the hotel because it came as part of a package. I wouldn't stay here again. -It's xtremely dated -It needs a deep clean -The bedrooms stink of stale smoke -The lighting in the bedroom is appalling, you can't put make up on in the room as its too dark and dingy. 2 bedside lamps is what you have to light up the room. The bathroom is bright except the mirror is steamed up for hours due to no extractor fan. -The beds don't have fitted bottom sheets. -The pizza place down in the basement is run by rude staff who can't be bothered with customers. The pizza wasn't much to be desired either! The best thing about the whole experience was that we had hot water in our bathroom!! So we gave breakfast a wide berth, nothing about the hotel was appetizing. It needs a total revamp if it wants to compete with hotels such as Premier Hotels.

Stayed one night as going to a concert at men arena. Large room small bed but everything you needed in the room had a good night sleep. Went to bar for a drink to be told they were closing and wasn't late too

Shocking, stayed for 2 nights for a work conference and was put in a smoking room asked to be moved and was moved next door to another smoking room and then the same again, after complaining I was eventually reluctantly moved to another floor to the point were the key cards for the new room were pretty much thrown at me. Staff on reception are rude and unhelpful, the food is terrible do not risk eating it! The rooms are old and in need of a refresh or at the least a deep clean. There was also some odd clientel @ the hotel loads of different men going in and out of rooms that were not staying @ the hotel with young scantily dressed females (make of that what you will). I came back to my room and the carpet was all wet but know explanation, I woke up with some sort of bites on me. I can imagine this was once a stunning hotel however not anymore. The location is good but I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone who is looking to book a trip to Manchester
