If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... Cheap and certainly cheerful. Small but comfortable rooms. Informal reception was strange and no clear place to drop off keys at checkout. Also only 2 towels and 3 pillows per room (although I imagine more could be requested)

Booked for weekend stay for work event, staying with my partner we opted for The Queen (Large double), prior to the booking we had a look online comparing the rooms, looking at The Queen (Large double) we see sunny room with a couch, place to stretch and large bed, great! It wasn't... Our room, 121, is clearly compact double, looking at the pictures on hotel website, with a large (queen size?) Bed. View from the window is.... A slab of concrete, yup, less that 10 inches from my window i have 7 feet of concrete wall to admire... Every single aspect that lead us to book this is room after looking at the picture online is a polar opposite our colleagues staying on the very same floor were assigned single bedrooms that were exactly the same size we spoke to reception, thinking we were placed in the wrong room, they confirmed with us that our room is large double because there's queen size bed... We've contacted their customer service via email, provided pictures and requested clarifications on my bedroom size... I've been to walk-in closets larger than my bathroom and room has no mini fridge... One great feature however is heated bathroom mirror, large area of the mirror will not be clouded by steam from the shower, quite commonly found these days but still kudos! There are sockets on each side of the bed with Usb connection, great! Staff is friendly and laid back, in a very good sense, they are professional but relaxed, which is great after long journey. Breakfast options are limited, hard boiled eggs only and one type of cheese and one type of ham for continental breakfast is a bit lackluster in comparison with other hotels. I maybe nit-picking, but I don't expect to be coming back here anytime soon....

Pretty small rooms and look mediocre. No proper storage. The staff has too much of an attitude issue. Faced issue at Check in (funny story) - they gave me a key to a room that was already checked in by a couple prior to me. It was good that the couple at least wasn't in an embarrassing situation/position when I opened the door. Also at the check out they weren't able to give me the correct receipt (they couldn't account for the additional amount I paid for my early check in!!??!). So when I told them about the person who early checked me in, that person turned out to be dumb enough to not remember anything!!! Even the check in mishap above!!?! The hotel doesn't have a dedicated reception table sort of and the staff at the entrance believe in talking amongst themselves more than attending their customers as soon as they walk in. Only good part about this place is that it is in the city centre, serves good breakfast in the morning (menu doesn't change however, so kind of boring for people staying more than a couple of days). Beware wen choosing this one. I thought it would turn out to be a value for money proposition but it didn't turn out to be. I had to edit my review about this hotel!

Great location close to Piccadilly, Canal Street and the Arndale centre. Quirky styled compact rooms with comfortable beds and large showers. Continental Breakfast only til 10am most days. Friendly staff do the best to accommodate you and kindly moved us to a larger room after requesting. Would stay again, recommended.

Another good Ibis hotel that's weather themed. Nice check-in without problems and a fairly quirky room that was clean and friendly with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was well appointed and very clean. I didn't eat there in the evening, but I had a couple of drinks in the bar and the service was good. The only downside for me was the breakfast, a cold continental affair and very overpriced for what it was. Next time I'd save the money and go to a local cafe.
