This is really one of the most wonderful hotels I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in very nice places in multiple countries. The Kensington is in a beautiful, safe and clean area of London and walking distance to the Victoria and Albert museum but on a quiet side street, kind of like the upper east side of Manhattan but not on a main avenue. The rooms, restaurant and bar are just gorgeously designed in a very classically British manner, and the dinner and breakfast were both superb. I had duck breast for dinner and eggs Benedict with salmon and a side of berries with yoghurt for breakfast. We also had the exquisitely prepared afternoon tea. The staff, from all over the world, were extremely accommodating and friendly.nnAnother plus is that you can easily take the Picadilly Line from Heathrow to the South Kensington station and walk about five minutes, so you don't have to take a cab or the Heathrow Express which drops you off in a busier area of London further away.nnMy wife and I are DEFINITELY going to be staying here whenever we return to London. A true perfect London experience.
We stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights while staying in London to visit family, and have officially declared it our “favorite hotel EVER!” The entire space was extremely comfortable with the chicest decor read: cool wallpaper everywhere! and cozy spots to lounge. The location is wonderful— close enough to museums and shopping 10-15 min walk without being in an overly busy or touristy area. But above all, the staff is what set the Kensington apart. We truly felt cared for by each and every person we encountered , from the front desk to mealtimes. Fernanda and Levi stood out as some of the most genuine and personable members of the team- these little touches are what take a stay from good to great. Thank you for making our brief time in London exceed all expectations!
Visited for the afternoon tea to celebrate our son's graduation. The room was perfect, the table setting divine. The staff were attentive - from the door to the table - and paid particular attention to my son, congratulating him and presenting him with a celebration dessert. The every item of food was delicious and superb quality. Great price and great location. Highly recommended.
Our family of 4 had an amazing time at the Kensington Hotel Queens Gate. The hotel is meticulously decorated with a timeless elegance. Our rooms were perfectly appointed. Beds were super comfortable and our room had all the amenities we needed.nnBut, it was really the staff we interacted with daily, that made all the difference.nnNoel, I believe, the front desk manager assisted us perfectly with all of our needs. He couldn’t have been more caring and accommodating. Each time we saw Noel he was interested in how our stay was going and assisted us with any questions or needs.nnAll of the staff was fabulous, but a few we interacted more than others:nnIn the lounge area, Idil is a Kensington treasure. Warm, accommodating, efficient. We wanted to see her every time we passed through the lobby area, or came back late to head to the bar. Idil made us feel like family. A wonderful server and professional advocate for all The Kensington has to offer.nnIn the bar, Adrish was the perfect gentleman. All the barmen dressed sharp and looked perfect in their attire. But, our evenings happened to always end with Adrish. He served us professionally, as if we were his only patrons. He was personable yet maintained his professionalism to a tee. Thank you Adrish, you made the end of each day enjoyable.nnFinally, I must say something about A Kensington Breakfast. The breakfast at The Kensington is Top Shelf. Always ‘include breakfast’ in your room selection. Food, breakfast rooms, table settings…all to perfection.nnOur primary server was Fernanda, a friendly, professional who welcomed us to breakfast so warmly each time. Fernanda, and her assistants, was so good at keeping up with our many requests for the 4 of our party. We felt like royalty as we fueled up for the days adventures. Thank you Fernanda for being such a great part of starting each morning off right.nnOverall, all of the staff was the best - from the chefs, kitchen staff, bellman, doorman, concierge and reception, cleaning staff and management. Everyone was excellent.
Located near the underground tube and 430 bus for easy transport. The restaurant is clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Staff member Harvey was very patient, kind and answered all our questions. He provided excellent service. Daniella our breakfast server was amazing and took the time to explain how they serve breakfast. The dinner menu was inexpensive and food was delicious.
