This hotel is three star at best. It gives off the façade of a four star hotel but once you get to the rooms, it is absolutely nothing higher than a three star. The best thing about this hotel are the wonderfully accommodating staff from the front desk to the housekeeping they’re all kind and helpful and the location. The hotel is connected to the Victoria station, which makes moving about London extremely convenient. My husband and I booked a four night stay here as a special getaway to have a little break as “mom and dad” and spend some time just us. We had never been to London, but have stayed at plenty of other four and five star hotels throughout the US and in other countries. We booked a deluxe King room because the pictures online made it appear that the bed was set back, away from the door. I hate a room that has a bed right next to the door as you hear everything and it takes away from the experience. We hoped to have a peaceful getaway and enjoy the town so hearing a lot of noise when we’re trying to relax/sleep went against that. We can get that environment at home with a toddler. Upon check-in, they had kindly given us the 6th floor, which I had requested, but I found that the bed was right next to the door. Kamil was kind enough to accommodate a move to a deluxe king room that was set away from the door but when we moved to that room, which is on the third floor, it was quite loud! We could hear booming music from the street and I could quickly tell we would get no rest in that room, so Kamil was extremely kind enough to move us back to our original room. Again, the staff is one of the best things about this hotel. The room is outdated. The bathroom is tiny. The shower was in a narrow bathtub, which was also set higher than a typical bathtub and actually was a little dangerous to get in and out of without any handrail to hold onto. There was no lotion in the room which I expect every hotel room to have, but especially during the dry winter season. I had to request it and at first housekeeping said they didn’t have any but after asking a couple of times they were able to get me a half full bottle, which I greatly appreciated. The beds are not comfortable. I expect a plush comfortable mattress, especially at a four star hotel, and this bed was not plush at all. They do not even put flat top sheets on the bed which I find gross and do not like at all. Our last night I was up until at least 2:30 AM because I could hear every neighbor on our floor coming to bed late at night slamming their doors and our next door neighbor banging all around. If you are someone who is hoping for a nice soundproofed room as I always hope for, you will not get it here. I was startled awake while I was dozing off multiple times. If not for the lovely staff at this hotel and our enjoyable visit on the town in London, this would’ve been a truly terrible stay. Given how expensive this hotel is for the quality of stay you receive, I would not recommend this hotel. Stay somewhere else!
Location is incredible. Victoria is well well linked via the tube or trains and there are some many eating options near by.nnFirst impression of the hotel as you enter to the lobby is breathtaking. You are met with the overwhelming sense of Christmas cheer and atmosphere. However the rest of the hotel is very old and probably requires some renovation. That said it’s part of the charm.nnWe booked the classic double….BIG mistake. The size of the room is inadequate for two people, no storage and no space to move.nnWe mentioned this to the hotel manager who moved us to another room. This new room was PERFECT!! And the remainder of our stay was so so good.nnI recommend going for the larger room if you are staying more than one night, you’ll thank yourselves.
Good location easy to access from Victoria station. This is a really beautiful old building and the decor and lobby is really stunning.nUnfortunately being an old building when you get inside the hotel it's like a maze and very very difficult to navigate. The hotel is in 2 buildings so if you are on floor 4 or above you have to change lifts in another building, not easy when you have luggage.nService in this hotel is non existent. My room wasn't cleaned at all for first 48 hrs and when I complained was told they were busy! When they did service the room it was bare minimum, really not convinced about cleanliness.nI was given a room with 2 single beds pushed together and made up separately, so basically slept in a single bed which was v narrow and bouncy, hence didn't sleep well. Have feedback on checkout and they did apologise
Excellent Location and Comfortable Rooms – Resolution After DeparturennI recently had the pleasure of staying at The Clermont Hotel in London. The hotel's location is outstanding, situated directly above Victoria Station, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and offered a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing.nnDuring my stay, I encountered an issue regarding the booking of an additional room for a third guest. I had initially booked a larger room to accommodate three people, but upon arrival, I was informed that an additional room was necessary. Despite discussing this with the manager, the only resolution offered was complimentary breakfast during our stay and a discount on the extra room.nnHowever, after returning home, I received a follow-up communication from the hotel addressing my concerns. While the situation was not fully resolved during my stay, I appreciate the hotel's efforts to address the matter after my departure and offer resolution.nnOverall, The Clermont Hotel offers a fantastic location and comfortable accommodations. While my experience had some challenges, I am grateful for the hotel's attention to my concerns post-stay.
Don't stay here. Read all the other poor reviews. Its a maze to find your room. How can they make it this difficult. You need to use 2 lifts to get up 7 floors! Good luck finding the second lift behind a secret door. And when you do its out of service. So you have to carry your bags up stairs. You would have thought that could have been mentioned at reception.nnI think you'd have more room in a sardine tin than this room.
