Nice, spacious and relaxing lounge. The girl on reception was a delight and came to take our order for breakfast. Limited selection of choices for breakfast, but the sausage bap and bacon bap were very tasty. A proper coffee machine would be nice, I like a cappuccino in the morning and unfortunately there is only a fairly basic Nespresso machine available.
I visited The Spitfire Lounge when flying from Southampton Airport recently. I love Southampton Airport as everything is compact and convenient, and it’s only 30 seconds from the main departure area to the lounge. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival at the lounge, as it wasn’t what I had imagined. It was bright and modern, with plenty of seating and areas to do work if you so wish. After a warm welcome we checked in using our Dragon Pass, and we could then go ahead and enjoy the complimentary food and drink. There was a selection of drinks including some fabulous Nespresso coffees, wine, beers and a range of soft drinks. There were also some spirits that you could upgrade to a nominal charge, which were very reasonable if you fancied a treat. The food options were varied and tasty. There were some snacks such as crisps and olives that you could help yourself to, and then you could order a hot dish that was cooked to order. This was nice as it came out hot and fresh instead of sitting around for hours on end. We had the Vegan Chicken Curry, and although I am not a Vegan, I really enjoyed it. It was a very quiet lounge, and there was a point we were the only ones in there for over an hour. From what I can see has only been re-opened recently, so news may not have spread that it’s back in action. Overall, we had a fantastic time at The Spitfire Lounge, the food and drink offering was really good, the lounge itself is modern and comfortable and the service was very friendly. I’ll definitely return when visiting Southampton Airport again.

For a small commuter airport this is a very decent and spacious lounge which has benefitted from a recent refit. Table service is provided for hot meals which are presented very well and delivered quickly and there is the usual array of free beverages and snacks. All in all a very pleasant way to while away the hours waiting for Guernsey fog to lift racking up the Priority Pass value. Cheers!
Lovely lounge, nice food and great staff. Pretty quite, which suits me well. Just a shame about the opening times; closes at 5pm on a Saturday. Make sure you check the times before you fly. Enjoy!Food: 5/5
Visited on Good Friday around 5pm. Reading the previous reviews I was looking forward to going to this lounge, but I was disappointed with this visit. While the wine and beer choices were good, there was hardly any snacks. I had to ask for crisps, which were brought in a small bowl. So I had to ask for another bowl once I'd eaten these. The only other snacks were some biscuits. When In asked if there was something else, some fresh muffins then arrived. The hot food was very tasty, but came in a children's portion bowl. The newspapers were a day old. The staff were not very attentive, one was eating her dinner admittedly, this was near 6pm when the place was quiet. In summary, not good value at all really, so sad, I remember the Flybe days when the lounge was much better value. Maybe late in the day on a bank holiday is not a good time to visit this lounge. On a more positive note, the lounge is comfortable, although the tables are a bit on the small side when eating a hot meal.
Awful useless opening times. Well done Southampton Airport for not opening the Lounge at times when the members need it. Closed between 0900 and 1300. What use is that ?
2019 March update: now that I knew where it was, I could reach the lounge easily. They have redone the interiors. More comfortable sofas now. Arrived at 0530 and was the first one to enter. Swift access by my lounge key. Turns out a guest charges to your lounge key card is cheaper than to pay for them as a walk-in. Will remember that next time I’m travelling with someone. Lounge was clean and tidy, ready for the day. Warm breakfast was ready on buffet. Crockery etc laid out but porridge bowls missing. Didn’t ask for it but I’m sure the helpful staff would’ve brought out some if asked. Bar has been redone. Did it try it out so early in the morning. WiFi - the breath of fresh air for electronic devices - is accessible either using the free service, valid for 4 hours after registration, or you can use the code prominently displayed within the lounge. Newspapers arrived around 0615. Departure board visible from most places. Good lounge considering the airport and city served. Have increased rating from 4/5 to 5/5 in this review. ========= 2017 Review: Takes time to locate. Friendly staff. Decent variety of food, beverages and alcoholic drinks. Silent zone, need to keep an eye on the departure display. Quiet, secluded. Work tables with AC plug points and high stools available to continue working. Rated 4/5 in this review.
Enjoyed a Tasty Bacon Roll ! Ideal place to chill out before Traveling.Food: 5/5
What a beautiful lounge, very relaxing and calm. Fantastic views over the airport. The service is fantastic and we were served by Kim and Maxine. Great range of drinks and snacks, plus a menu of hot food. Tried the curry it was amazing very tasty and freshly made. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
