Hands down the best vegetarian roasts I’ve ever had. The nut roast was super moist and perfectly balanced, all the trimmings were fresh, flavourful and perfectly cooked. Love how it was served on the side. Service top notch too! And so many options for dietary requirements vegan/gluten free 10/10 smashed it!
What an amazing pub, we went in last minute and the staff were so accommodating despite being busy - a sign of a great pub, it being so busy! They had a table setup in the matter of seconds and we had an excellent meal, at a great affordable price too. A lovely atmosphere and such a friendly pub well worth a visit.
Good service I couldn't fault it. A good ballance of timing and attentiveness. Food was great. All standard fare but done really well. My pork belly was nicely presented and really tasty. Decor was proper country pub, reassuringly slightly dated, not too 'try hard'. The real delivery was in the food and service. Looking forward to returning.
Can not recommend this pub enough. Has a great atmosphere with lovely scenery when sat outside. Excellent service, beer was delicious and the food was one of the best i have ever had. The price was a little high but well worth it.
Great service from the staff. Plenty of seating, both inside and out. Food was nice and delivered without delay, despite there being a number of people eating. Nice views across the fields. Parking: Small carpark, but plenty of spaces on the road near the pub.
For a lovely meal out I’d often choose here. It’s about 1hr away for me but it’s definitely worth the trip out. You get a lovely welcome and excellent quality of food with generous portions. I love the Pork Belly! I can not wait to come back in the colder months when the fire is lit. Jim and his team Thank you and see you soon.
This is a great pub and restaurant. As we entered we were greeted with a friendly welcome. The food was excellent along with the service. I was going to have 2 courses but the quality of the starter and main pushed me to have a dessert and I wasn't disappointed. Potion sizes were very good and I really felt like the kitchen team had a handle on what they were doing. Keep places like this open by showing some support if you are in the area.
I recently visited here with a big group of friends. The experience was nothing short of seamless. The staff were very friendly and attentive and with my wife being coeliac the menu was very versatile. Plenty of GF options.
I was in the area for work and stopped by for an early dinner around 17:30. The special of the day was duck breast, with a raspberry jus, tender stem broccoli, bacon peas, and gratin potatoes. The meal was presented really nicely. The combinations were great but everything just needed a little more seasoning otherwise would have been 5stars. The duck was cooked really nicely as was everything else. The experience was great, the service staff were lovely and attentive. The gastropub is in such a scenic area, and the patio is unbeatable. I wish I lived closer as I’d frequent this spot! P.S.: the interior decoration is worth a stop in itself- classic country pub aesthetic.
What a lovely friendly pub, I have been there several times recently and we always receive a warm welcome from the staff, our dog is a VIP there. The food that we had was delicious - can’t recommend it enough! The fries and gravy are the best in the country!
