Dropped in thinking I needed a new pannier rack. They advised a few well placed bolts should do the trick, lent me the tools to fit it and then blessed me saying it was all free!  Great shop with lots of lovely steel bikes in. Worth a look. Big thumbs up!!

We're residents in the area and ordered a bike from another retailer online but had trouble putting it together. Eddy at The Hackney Peddler helped us sort it out with such kindness, not even wanting anything for it. Can only recommend this store if you want to get a bike - the friendliness, expertise and service is stellar  thank you!!

Though they were very good until today when I was turned away. I came to shop and asked if someone could help me adjust the breaks because one is breaking while I am riding. Could anyone take a look and tell me if I need full repair or its just adjustment. I felt like for some reason they were not keen to help. The guy of dark short hair in glasses told me to leave bicycle as they are busy there was no clients in the shop . I dint want to leave bicycle, I just needed 1min of proper attention of professional. I wasn't given other option like" i am sorry we are busy at the moment you can come in 1h or 30min if you want to consult your repair”. Communication was not encouraging it went silent. I felt they were not interested in even just looking briefly whats wrong. It was my latest nice bike shop in my neighbourhood until today. Please be nice and make your clients ride safely, communicate if you cant help now, then when you have spare minute? Please do it with care, encourage to come back to you otherwise your reputation will be suffering.

I just popped in for the first time as we’ve moved locally. Eddy fixed the dynamo and handles for me quickly and only charged for the new handles, which was much appreciated. They also offered friendly advice. I will definitely look into booking a service here. Thanks for your help!

Impressive work! I had an accident and my bike’s steel frame was bent so far out of shape it was almost a right off, most repair people wouldn’t go near it. These guys gave it a go and succeeded!  They charged a very low fee as well and  told me ahead of time it could break and if so they wouldn’t charge me. All worked out well,  top lads, cheers for your great work!

As a new cyclist I brought my bike into this shop as I felt it was not working to its full potential. I was greeted by a dark haired gentlemen forgot name who was very polite and welcoming listening to my issues with the bike. He then put me onto his in-store mechanic papa he called himself who wasted no time in putting my bike on a rack and inspecting my bike thoroughly whilst educating me on what he was doing. Both staff were funny and helpful. When I jumped back on my bike it felt fantastic as if brand new. Will definitely be using these guys in future for any cycling needs. Big up the hackney peddlers

Wonderful People and wonderful bikes. I’ve been a customer since these guys were based at Hackney Downs. They’re always very accommodating and fairly priced. More recently I’ve had my cargo bike totally stripped, resprayed and rebuilt. Highly recommend.

The No 1 place to go for all things on two wheels. I have nothing for praise for the staff who listen to my weak excuses why I am unable to fix the most simplest of bike problems and typically they can fix within the hour or ten minutes on a week day. They appear to enjoy what they do and are professional and knowledgeable. Also their prices are fair...and transparent. Recommended!

amazing customer service and top notch work at very reasonable prices. super friendly and helpful staff unlike some of the other bike shops in Dalston  looking at you 'about the bike'. very happy to have found MY local bike shop !
