MM Music/The Guitar Store Southampton, Hampshire UK was established in 1987 and has been a music store faithfully serving families, musicians and collectors ever since.

Went in here on a Southampton trip today with no intention of buying anything, let alone a pricey guitar, just fancied a look as the Isle Of Wight is incredibly disappointing with it's lack of music stores... £240 later and I'm the happiest I've ever been with a guitar purchase. Absolutely brilliant collection of instruments, and the staff are impeccable. The young staff members were friendly and offered straight away for me to play the guitar of my choosing, and the man who served us went beyond out of his way to make sure the guitar was safe to travel home in the poor weather after tolerating my massive indecisiveness over whether or not I should actually buy the guitar. Overall I'm incredibly satisfied with my purchase, will come here every time I'm in Southampton and will 100% recommend anyone else to pop in as well.
Popped in with my daughter for a small screw for her acoustic guitar to hold on the strap. The staff were amazing and the shop owner had a spare one and didn’t charge us. Most importantly he advised us on our daughters next guitar and was so knowledgeable, he actually saves us money by not trying to sell the most expensive but the most appropriate guitar. The staff are excellent and the shop is well stocked. We’ll be back time and time again to feed the guitar obsession!
Very helpful friendly team. We were only looking for a stand for an electric guitar but they couldn't have been more patient and helpful, explaining the options and doing their best to help. Wasn't the most lucrative of sales opportunities for them but they went out of their way to make sure we went away with what we needed and their prices are competitive too. Highly recommend!
Absolutely one of the best experiences I've had in a music store; Jamie and the team sorted my band out with kindness and expertise, and were always quick to hop on a ladder whenever we needed to see something! Better service than any big chain store you can find, and better selection too! Thanks so much guys!
Staff are friendly, they allowed me to plug in and play a guitar that I was interested in, no hassle. They gave me the space to explore the instrument, took my own guitar in to compare, made a purchase. No problem. Many thanks.

An Alladin's Cave, massive stock of all guitar types spread over two floors, this is a proper shop run by an experienced, helpful and friendly professional who knows his stuff inside out. As a professional music tech myself, pianos, I can recommend the Guitar Store for anyone from the beginner to the seasoned pro. If it's connected with guitars and this place doesn't have it, it probably doesn't exist.

After being let down by another shop on delivery, I placed an order with the guitar store.... absolutely great service, my order arrived next day...even though it was a short notice order...they went above and beyond for me, thank you so much.
A great store and great staff! Knowledgeable, helpful and excellent value. I'd much rather buy from real people I can speak to rather than impersonal faceless superstores. I'm thrilled with my Martin 12 String! This is my second Martin from The Guitar Store.
