We basically come here for Willow; the gorgeous pub cat who is over 20 years old!! The pub itself is good. Lots of sports. Pretty quiet on weekdays but not sure about a Sat / Fri night. Good Guiness apparently.
A friendly pub with open and well-designed beer garden with plenty of seating and optional shady spots. Lots of screens if some in your group are up for staring at sports. Prices for spirits are high, but that is sadly reflective of our current economic climate and the state of alcohol pricing. A good range of drinks but could benefit from stocking a better range of draught ciders... Inch's and Strongbow are, for me, ones to look past.
Lovely little pub, with a great beer garden. Reasonably priced drinks, and lovely bar staff. Ladies was clean with a sign up to say to ask at the bar of you needed sanitary products,or if anyone was making you feel unsafe etc. I look forward to coming back.
Great choice of beers and a good sports venue. Mens toilets being outside mean they were FREEZING
I have never been to a worse bar in my life, where do I start, the beer garden has TV’s covered with canvas which looks as if it hasn’t been washed it 10 years, the staff seem like they just do not want to be there and those staff that do wanna be there seem to be a bunch or really rowdy woman who are looking for any excuse to throw punters out, maybe so it reduces there work load. A group of boys were there for what it looked like a friends birthday, they had a few drinks and were then wrongfully turned away from the bar. Very strange, if you’re visiting the beautiful city of Winchester definitely avoid this horrendous hole.
Sadly none of the awesome burgers they used to do - or any hot food for that matter. But the beer was good and theres a pub garden to watch sport in
Sports bar. Good pints, good prices . Plenty of seating. What's not to like
Dark, grungy, slightly rough around the edges. Good cheap pints though and lovely people. Decent enough to stop by for a drink but wouldn't stay hugely long. Always showing the game and a bit of whatever is in season. Garden space out back for those that like getting rained on. Bar staff are friendly and helpful, also give good conversation but can be a little shy, get them talking and they're ace. Toilets are classic pub toilets, don't expect anything major and there's no parking obviously so account for that.
What a surprise. I have walked past this pub a few times and was never sure if I should go inside. It looks a bit dark from the outside. I COULD NOT BE MORE WRONG! It was such a delight when I finally went in! The bar is huge! It has comfortable seating areas. The selectin of drinks is good. There is even a good size garden area. I will most certainly go back here in my next trip to Winchester.
Good place for a few drinks. Great for sport! Drinks a touch expensive, but most places seem to be at the moment
