Just stopped in for a pint, it was a really good one if I must say. Great price, and good vibes. Food must be good because most tables were reserved, definitely will be returning in the near future.
Great place for a pint and tasty pub meal. Praise to the staff who were fully capable of serving a group of twenty at once.
Had a really nice meal - it's within walking distance of work and we wanted to get out of the office for something quick to eat. There was a good, varied menu with great prices. The food came quickly and was very well cooked. Would definitely go again.
Good community pub! We arrived on a Thursday at lunch time and the welcome was friendly. We loved the Steak Club offers and been tempted by the pub classic offers as well. Still we went for steak and the steak was good. The prices are reasonable also. We liked the cosy atmosphere and the friendly staff. One place we would happily recommend.
Visited here Today after going to the Winchester University open day. Large variety of different meals on the menu perfect for whatever you may fancy. Was highly impressed by the amount of different menus that were available including, gluten free and vegetarian. The food was delicious and arrived very quickly and was a very generous portion size. Friendly staff and would definitely visit again if nearby.
Come here often. The food is always delicious curry sauce is the best I’ve ever had the drinks are reasonably priced and taste lovely. The staff are by far the best think about the pub, always extremely friendly and make sure your visit is a good one
Had a meal with my family 2 adults and 3 children, place itself is very nice and quite traditional. I had the mixed grill, asked for the steak to be rare, it came well done. Kids meals came way before the adults which wasn't ideal. They got one of the kids orders wrong but sorted family quickly. Drinks orders were a bit hit and miss, they forgot one of our drinks completely so had to chase up at the bar. The puddings were nice and found the coffee good but it came lukewarm. Sure they would have sorted the issues but we were in a rush so couldn't hang around for them to burn another steak. Overall the food was ok, probably a bit overpriced for what it is but there were clean plates from all on the table so it fit its purpose in that regard. Would I go back again? Probably not but if we had to it wouldn't be the end of the world
Lovely pub, great service and good food. Our family went there for dinner twice and it was lovely. They have a promo where we can feed the family for £20. Kids can't wait to go back!
Absolutely love coming here! Food is always so fresh and delicious, staff are super friendly and always make sure to add a personal touch to service, such a pleasant experience every time! Thank you all who work here for being the best pub in Winchester by far!
Not a good lunch! We booked a table for 1pm and arrived,ordered drinks and perused the menu. We ordered and they were very busy so new it would take a little while for the food to arrive. An hour later we were still waiting and one of the bar staff apologized and said it wouldn’t be much longer. Another 15 minutes passed and the food arrived, unfortunately on everything on my plate,except for the chips was lukewarmI ordered the mixed grill . I returned the plate of food to the bar. Some minutes later I was told it was being re cooked and would be taken off the bill. The new plate of food arrived some 10 minutes later at after half past two! My husband had by this time eaten his food. We went out to lunch to eat together and today was very disappointing! Shame as we have enjoyed eating here at least twice a month! Time for a change…
