Lovely old pub with a real open fire, low ceilings, varied bitter / ale offering, friendly staff and an arrangement that you can order and eat your takeaway for a small charge. Looks much nicer on the inside. Definitely worth a visit

I think this place can be accurately described as unspoiled. It is a time machine that will transport you 100s of years into the past. It's great. I had a pint of Pots from the local Flower Pots Inn at Cheriton. Salted nuts are also good value.
A great experience for my first visit since roughly! the 1980s. A warm welcome on a Monday night. Good beers and our cider gremlin pronounced himself satisfied. As is common for a building of this vintage, you would need to plan a carry-in for a wheelchair user from the street. I shall return. 26SEP2022.
Lovely little old fashioned pub. Decent selection of ales, plenty of interesting stuff dotted around, open fire in the cold weather and friendly staff. I can see why it’s rated so highly among so many users.

Really nice, small, traditional pub off the beaten path. Good atmosphere.
Very clicky. Not friendly to non regulars. Landlady very frosty. We had two drinks and collected the glasses before we left, leaving them on the bar in front of her. There wasn't even a thank you from her.
