Nice cosy pub with good food.but 10% service charge in a pub ? Fish & chips were good, game pie was nice, Brie in bread was good could be improved if the bread had been pre sliced 60% down to make eating easier Roastbeef also looked good. Unfortunately I didn't realise/ read / see this 10% service charge automatically added and therefore I left a 10% tip. Leaving nearly £60 tip for pub food and service. How I rate. 5* Amazing 4* Better than expected 3* Good 2* didn't meet expectations 1* Poor
We stayed locally in Ashford In The Water, came to this lovely pub for dinner one evening - walking distance from our cottage. The bartender was great so friendly, food was delicious. Had a steak pie, it was fresh and portions were huge. Pub is reasonably small inside so definitely call and book a table. Would definitely come back!
Busy pub although it was Bank Holiday and the sun was out probably were short staffed. Queued to get served but the beer was worth it. Pipers crisps a bonus too. Sat out the front and the atmosphere was lovely. Think it would be helpful if more people returned their glasses when they leave. Its always good to do your bit to help the bar staff. Would definitely recommend visiting.
Lovely Sunday dinner at a beautiful country pub. Friendly and helpful staff. A great example of a classic country pub. Great choice of hand pulled ales and larger. Dog friendly, we will definitely returnFood: 4/5
After a beautiful walk along the River Wye, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at The Bulls Head. Delicious food, very generous portions and friendly staff and locals, we were made to feel very welcome thank you, great way to celebrate my birthday. Thank you Peter for giving us a tour of the local area.Food: 5/5
From the minute we walked in we felt welcome even though the pub was very busy, the service was professional and fast. All of the staff were attentive, polite and delivered outstanding service. The ambiance of the pub is great, with lovely decor and a cosy feel. I had a great stout 3 in fact and my wife had a beer. The food was amazing and again service was absolutely brilliant. The beef and unicorn pie was delicious and packed with quality beef, chips cooked to perfection and a lovely portion of veg. Would like to say thank you to the whole team and you have a pub you should be really proud of! We come from Thame in Oxfordshire and have some great local pubs and bistros, but you would top most of them. All the best John and Helen Ps - would have given you more stars but limited to 5
Absolutely beautiful little country pub with a stunning beer garden. The barman was spot on, really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with regards to the real ales and the food on the menu. The food was exceptional, well presented and a good, diverse selection of meals. Meals shown: starter, whitebait with spicy tomato sauce - main: Korean chicken taco with Kimchi - pudding: traditional Bakewell pudding with cream.
We came in with some friends for a meal after a day out in the area. Right from the first interaction on the phone to book the table we knew we would be well looked after. Very professional, friendly, helpful staff - couldn't fault anyone we interacted with. Excellent food - the beef and unicorn pie in particular - and the service was quick. Would highly recommend the Bull's Head to anyone looking for a top quality pub meal and a great pint of cask ale.
Absolutely fabulous afternoon here in glorious sunshine...the atmosphere was brilliant...everyone out in the garden was enjoying themselves and the food...I have to recommend the Pitch stout... beautiful deep flavour and so smooth...staff were very friendly and greeted us with a cheerful smile...would highly recommend a visit...we wilk be going again in the near future...thank you
This delightful whitewashed former coaching inn is located on the main street. Popped in here on a Sunday afternoon while on a day excursion. It seemed to be the only place open and it was packed, but the bar staff though very busy were really welcoming and friendly. The bar lounge is cosy and full of olde-worlde charm, with oak beams and nostalgic old photos on the walls. Good choice of beers and ales. Only had time for a drink, so I can't comment on the meals other than that the food I saw other people eating both looked and smelled good! Enjoyed a cold refreshing lager and lime in the beer garden at the back of the pub. It's a pleasant space with a beer tent, shady parasols, a nice view and a casual friendly vibe. Quite a few people were here with dogs, so canine friends are obviously welcome! Only a brief visit but a very pleasant one. Would be happy to return to try one of their traditional pub meals!
