This is a popular spot for walkers and can sometimes be difficult to get parked, it's worth trying though. The gift shop is nice with a good variety of local gifts. The cafe is spacious and clean and the staff very friendly. Service is quick and efficient. The menu is varied from breakfast to lunch options. The food is good value and quality.
Lovely cafe. Friendly staff, patient staff taking orders. Could be more efficient at cleaning tables but the place is very busy on a weekend. Turn out of food is super speedy. Kids pasta dish pleasant but a bit dry. Jackets are lovely and fluffy. Pork sandwich was beautiful. Lovely string tea also, forgot to ask what tea do you use?! Very tasty. Toilets clean. Nice gift shop. Overall nice experience and would return.
Lovely cafe situated on the Monsal trail formerly the old Hassop train station. There is an outside cafe and an inside cafe. Bike hire there also, there's a children's play area. Loads of seating outside. The coffee was great just what we needed on our way back to Bakewell. The staff were very friendly. Definitely a good stop for refreshments on your walk.
Visited here for lunch this week, attracted by the bookshop. It used to be an excellent bookshop - a large barn full of bookshelves. There were photographs on the website showing many books in the bookshop as I remembered. Had a nice lunch in the cafe with my family, then went to look for the bookshop. There were a couple of bookshelves in the gift shop. Nothing like the photographs on the website, and nothing like it was last time I visited. Frankly, most National Trust shops have a larger selection of literature and they don't claim to be bookshops. Asked at the counter, and was told that yes, the gift shop was all there was. Utterly frustrating.
Called for lunch before walk along trail. Plenty of seating, excellent fast service and super food. Very busy but plenty of seating inside and out. Super gift shop attached with lots of quirky items and some excellent cards. Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegetarian options. Had a pesto mushroom and spinach toasted sourdough sandwich which was excellent
Lovely place, very busy gift shop and plenty of seating inside and out. Fantastic vegan and vegetarian menu alongside the main menu. Only complaint was that despite there not being many customers, the tables weren't cleared and cleaned. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie/vegan options! Parking: Beware that depending where you park, depends on whether you have to pay or not. There are signs about this but they are low to the ground so you don't see them until you've parked and paid and then walking to the shop and realise you could have parked closer for free!
After a lovely walk from a few stations up we came across Hassop Station Cafe. Had some coffee, soft drinks & Bakewell puddings, one hot with ice-cream. It was soooo good & tasty, the pudding & the ice-cream were really nice & my youngest loved them. Dog friendly with some really lovely staff, highly recommend if your on the walk around here
We stopped with our two dogs whilst walking along the Monsal Trail. Despite it being October it was a warm day so we sat outside, there were lots of seating options available inside and out. We ordered a gingerbread latte and a choc orange hot chocolate, both of which were delicious and piled high with cream. We had originally planned to get an ice cream to have on our walk as we continued, but the drinks were so filling we didn't need it! Nice gift shop with a good selection.
Good parking, outside toilet not very good especially for the disabled, it would be impossible and could do with monitoring for cleanliness. I didn't eat there this, as I'm always suspicious of how hygienic the kittens etc are if the toilets that are open to everyone to see are not good. I did eat there a few years ago and it was OK.
Really nice food. Dog friendly and loads of space if you sit outside..under cover. Great place to park for walk into Bakewell on monsall trail. Definately worth a trip. Smoked salmon bagel the best ever!Food: 5/5
