My husband and I have just returned from an amazing trip with The Rutland Hotel in Bakewell. The hotel is central to Bakewell village so is easily accessible to the village and the main sights nearby. The staff were so welcoming and wonderful from the moment we stepped in the door. They even gave us a free upgrade to a 4-poster bed room! Every staff member we spoke with was polite, kind and helpful and the service we received was second to none! The rooms were clean, romantic and had excellent facilities. The coffee is the best my husband has ever tasted and it is their own company’s house blend so worth a try! We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone and would definitely visit again! Food & drinks: Excellent food and drink available in the hotel with a great menu.
We never stayed at the hotel but enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch there. The restaurant was full when we arrived but they were kind enough to accommodate us in the general bar area. Sunday veggie roast was lovely and just the right amount, so you could still walk around afterwards without opening your top button of your trousers Friendly service and a nice atmosphere too
Really liked our stay. Very comfortable and good quality room. Lovely staff and very pleasant lounge areas. We dined in the evening and the food was excellent. Breakfast was delicious in warm yet intimate. Rooms: Modern and comfortable with excellent en suite
Lovely hotel, steeped in history. The decor is delightful. The room was across quite a busy road in the courtyard which at this time of year meant putting a coat on just to go for dinner and breakfast. Having said that, it was worth it as the food was delicious. The room was ok but the bathroom was a bit small. Overall though, it was an enjoyable experience.
Brilliant hotel. Slap, bang in the middle of Bakewell Fantastic service from all of the staff. Our room was presented well with refreshments and biscuits and chocolate. Food in the restaurant was delicious and plentiful. Breakfast was equally as good as the evening meal. The only downside was the parking, we were able to park in the hotel car park for 1 night but not the 2nd. But we just parked about 5 minutes away and it cost approx £2 for the night
Fantastic stay: great location, lovely decor and comfortable rooms. We really appreciated the extra touches in the bedroom there was a DAB radio, books, a lavender spray for bedtime and a tic tac toe on top of the usual amenities. As for the breakfast, the produce were high quality and treated with care. Would definitely go back.
We stayed here for a very reasonably priced mid -week break early February. Really cool decor, particularly the dining room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good, our steaks were delicious. Cooked breakfast menu was excellent. Comfortable bed and a rubber duckie in the bathroom. Personal note welcoming note from ‘Zoe’ in the bedroom was a lovely touch. Thanks Zoe, you’d done a great job
Staff welcoming and friendly. Laid back atmosphere. Food very well presented, portion sizes just right. Bao buns exceptional. Cod loin tender and perfectly cooked. Reasonably priced, too. Would happily come backService: 4/5
We did get off to a shaky start on this our first visit to the Rutland, as the room was available a few minutes after 3, and the Sunday lunch we had booked for our arrival was the worst roast dinner we’ve ever had. HOWEVER, sometimes you just get unlucky. The hotel and all the staff are lovely. The breakfast is perfect. We stayed a few nights and whatever we ordered was spot on. We also had the best steak dinner I can ever remember having anywhere. We had an accessible twin room in the courtyard , and, yes, you do have to cross a small road to the main hotel but it wasn’t an issue. The room was huge and well equipped. The green light over the door which was permanently on was not conducive to sleep really , but, no blue light on the tv like usual! All in all, good value and we will go again. Would recommend for sure.
We visited the Rutland Arms for a family meal. The food was very good and reasonably priced. There is a large selection of drinks and the bar is dog friendly. There is a separate restaurant and a cafe and the interior is beautiful and modern.Service: 5/5
