As a Post Covid lockdown pub the Black Garter is well run, with decent procedures, and I felt pretty safe. I do miss the music and karaoke, and it's a shame the covid safe queue means the outdoor tables aren't used in the evening. Still worth a look in!

Never seen a pub so dedicated to sport and horse racing. TVs at every angle. Full of real characters, cheap pints. Couldn't fault it. Like most of the pubs I was in, nothing fancy, just a good bar.

Always a warm welcome...drinks are reasonably priced and craic is excellent

Great pub. Right in the heart of the city. Bookies next door. Plenty of screens and perfect for watching football or the racing. Ticks all the  boxes for a drink during the day. I will be back if in Newcastle again.

The best. Met my old school mate here tonight. Best mates forever. A great pub. A great atmosphere. Great boozer. I,m a Newcastle taxi driver and when I get people from all over the world and they want a good Geordie boozer I always tell them about the The Black Garter. Proper pub with proper people. Well done to all. See you again.
