Nice little place in Newcastle. Clean tidy decorated lovely. Toilets are clean. Wheelchair accessible entrance but never noticed accessible toilet. Not the cheapest pub in Newcastle I'm afraid but drink was really nice. Staff was polite. A local bus service runs close by as does the local metro, either St James or monument metro station. Would I return, yes I would, I have been before but for me it's now and again for a treat price wise. I would recommend to my family and friends to pay a visit X
Absolutely love it in here. Came on a busy friday night and also on a quiet afternoon while in town. Staff are absolutely lovely and the regulars that we met were so nice. Really like it in there, great atmosphere when its heaving and great music and even when its quiet it's a lovely place to be. Would recommend to anyone for a nice friendly drink or a cheerful night out.
Traditional pub. Great place for a pint. It's normally quiet when I go but I bet it gets busy on match days. Had great warm pork scratchings on the bar when I went. Spot on.
Attended this venue at 10pm Saturday 18th Feb 2023. Was in company with 2 other 50 somethings and a younger female drinker. Light hearted banter with security staff on way in. Ordered 4 pints of Darwin brewery ale. Took some photos of the pump ref Darwin Nunez LFC player. Server immediately became aggressive stating we were barging into others. No one else present at bar area then refused to serve us. CCTV will support this. Apparent he had an issue serving us. Immediately left and went next door to Rosie’s. Staff there were welcoming and described the barman as a ‘weirdo’ who likes to dress up in costumes re Comic con. Visited Newcastle several times and this is the worst experience I have had.
A very popular old pub just off the main street. Even if it looks full and you haven't been before get yourself in, good friendly staff and you can get a toasty.
It deserves 5* just for the music selection. Awesome! Got a good cocktail and good nachos. Soccer fans on a game night provided added local folklore. Definitely a nice spot
Great pub with really helpful staff, and excellent food at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit!
Great atmosphere, music, service and drinks. A real pub.
Lovely pub, was not there for long but would happy go back again
Used to visit here regularly about twenty five years ago, when it was one of the only bars in Newcastle where one could obtain decent real ale. I was underwhelmed on this occasion, as there were only four handpulls available, featuring products from just two brewers. My disappointment was palpable, and the pint I chose was just about acceptable; on this showing it could be another twenty five years before I venture to return
