Great discovery in Newcastle. Friendly people to chat with in the pub, would definitely go again. The Newcastle bar and pub scene is very different to the London one. Definitely worth coming to Newcastle for the experience.
A good pint served by pleasant bar staff in a cosy pub.
The Blackie Boy has always been a favorite city centre pub and it's nice to see that it remains the same after all the years gone by it hasn't been hit by the make over brigade.
Beer was rank. And very expensive. The staff changed the beer to something else no bother...but beer needs to be good all the time...and it was 3pts sent back.
Upstairs makes a lovely venue for family occasions...lovely buffet
2 4 1 free pour cocktails...what more do you need to know?
Pitch black inside but always decent massive area outside for smoking with heaters etc
2 for 1 cocktails, decent lager birra morreti and a free juke box. Not even particularly busy. Highly recommended. There's a great cocktail bar upstairs as well if it's not booked out for a private function.
