Great discovery in Newcastle. Friendly people to chat with in the pub, would definitely go again. The Newcastle bar and pub scene is very different to the London one. Definitely worth coming to Newcastle for the experience.
can’t recommend enough! lovely red haired young woman served me with a smile good selection of draught however could do with a larger section of lagers, namely stella. The jukebox is a nice touch however if it was free it would be extra lovely:
This used to be a great little boozer. I think they have just painted it all black and took some light bulbs out, Neck Oil and Double JD £16.Service: 4/5
Quite a nice place and I would imagine it is hopping on a Friday and Saturday night. We were there early on a Friday night and things hadn't got going yet. The Guiness is fantastic , I mean really good. The staff were friendly and overall it's not a bad place to drink Guinness and while away a few hours. If you are looking for a more lively night, just wait, things seem to kick off around nine or half past
A good pint served by pleasant bar staff in a cosy pub.
Nice enough place but beware of what you are being charged for drinks.... Got charged more for exactly the same order on 9th March 2019....by the manager.... Yeah go figure. She was upset when challenged... But nobody likes to be robbed. She gave me some money back but we left shortly after.... Sadly we normally look forward to going to this bar.... But will be very wary in future
2 for 1 cocktails, decent lager birra morreti and a free juke box. Not even particularly busy. Highly recommended. There's a great cocktail bar upstairs as well if it's not booked out for a private function.
This historic pub is located just off Newcastle Bigg Market.
A great, fun bar. Quite busy but not too busy. Reasonable prices and good bar staff. Worth a visit.
When you want to get away from the NC party scene, enjoy beer on tap and listen to some good’ol music, Swarley’s might be your place depending on who’s in control of the jukebox.
